What would you do if you lost sth very expensive ...

Oh please, it’s not about anyone being desperate for your glasses, it’s just regular people just chilling when they see some nice looking sunglasses lying around and maybe they say “hey, do these belong to anyone here?” but no one says a thing so they just keep 'em. In all likelihood they don’t even know how expensive the glasses are.

I remember finding a mens watch on the bus once and keeping it (after just shouting "hey, this anyones? and the busdriver said his last ride was something to austin so I was like “whatever, mine now”) and giving to my brother, turns out this was a very fancy brand and he asked if he could pawn it, I didn’t really care as long as I got half. I mean, people don’t look out scavenging for things people leave out because they’d rather just pick pocket, if you are careless enough to leave something expensive then it’s going to get stolen.

I found last year a golden ring at a night club.I gave it to the manager and the next time I visited that club he told me the owner was so happy and grateful that she left me $20 to express her gratitude. So unexpected.
Honesty and integrity are qualities people must have.In a bus it is one thing - the one who left the item couldnt really hope to find it anymore. In a club - different story. The most logic thing for the owner is to come and ask the manager if he/she found it .
