What would you do if you lost sth very expensive ...

So, my dad got me these really fancy RayBan sunglasses worth 150$ or so.
I went with a friend to some Internet cafe today and I left without them.Fifteen minutes later , I went back but they were gone. Now I really don
t know how to explain this to my parents..;[ It
s not that we will get impoverished by that lost but I feel I am losing my parents`trust..Before buying the glasses my dad told me that I will either drop them and break the lenses or forget them in some club ...

You better make up some excuse as to why you lost them. And repay them back by getting a job. Like really pay them $150 and say your sorry.

Just make enough money to buy a new pair.

Hmm, I’ve lost two iPods, one a video, one a touch. I’ve also lost $400 glasses and my cellphone.

My parents got over it. Try to reassure them as much as you can that you’ll be careful in the future.

I will try to make up some kind of story that some homeless people stole them and ran away…
Losing iPod is brutal.I had my iPhone display 3GS broken just two days after I got it.When I showed it in school everyone wanted to see it and two girls dropped it while passing…
SO I had to wait about 3 weeks to have it fixed and made up all kind of lies where the phone was

^Aww, that sucks :(. My friend lost my iPod earphones and I was upset with her for just that, much less for breaking the whole thing.

LoLoL, yep you’re screwed…have a nice day.

iPods are lame.I still don`t get it how is it possible to spend so much money on sth that cannot call and send messages.iPhones are different story.

somebody’s gonna get a hurt reeeeeell baaaaad

^I think you know him very well…

“dad, I’m a teenager, what exactly were you thinking when buying me $150 sunglasses?”

I don’t think you should make up a story. Especially about a homelessman stealing them :(

He has already thought about you losing them. He has thought about this in his decision to buy them. He will already be braced for this.

He may have insurance or he may have been joking you around about the cost. You never know with dads :)

Tell him the truth, and offer to repay him. He will either accept, or decline. (Most likely decline) Be persistant and pay him $10 a week for 15 weeks, and your golden!

Goodluck, it will work out for the best. Truely though, making up a story about a homelessman can have some icky consequences :(

You asked the people working at the cafe if they picked them up after you left, right? Assuming you did and some random patron took them, just buy a new pair, no mater what it takes.

it’s summer, you can earn more than $150 in a week at minimum wage, of course your parents would ask why

I don’t get how people can lose such expensive things, but I only really have my mp3 and phone (which is a cheap phone and I bought my mp3 myself). But if I’m wearing jewelry or something I keep touching it and making sure I have it on me.

Buy a cheap pair of sunglasses that look just like them. Dont say a word

I decided to tell my parents that I went to the beach with friends and while being in the water with them someone stole our stuff. It is pretty common and I hope they won
t get too mad.Of course there is the questions “why didnt someone stay to guard” but … still this is the best I can think of.I just don
t wanna lie that the glasses arent missing and everything is fine. But to tell that I forgot them in an Internet cafe while playing stupid childish video games will get me grounded for a month (or get me hired in the supermarket run by a friend of my dad ) … :(

eh, just tell the truth and don’t leave expensive things out anymore

I hope that the moron who got the thing that didnt belong to him will lose something far more valuable one day…

I hope the moron who doesn’t keep track of their expensive belongings doesn’t receive anything too expensive for a while. Lulz.

I admit it is my fault. But I lost it at a club.It is normal to go back and look for it.How desperate must one be to just collect sth in a club that doesnt belong to him
