What would you do with $500,000?

I know there are many good education resources out there, but unfortunately not all of you can afford them or dedicate enough money toward education. But, assuming you could, what would you buy?

If you had $500,000 to spend only on your education(and related ECs) in your Freshman year, what specific tools, things, books, institutes, people etc. would you spend it on?

Is CC dead? Why is no one replying?

Because your questions are inane. If I was in charge of you and you had that much money to spend on freshman year education and EC, I would take it all away and challenge you to see what you could do with nothing.

If you’re trying to buy your way into college (which, from your other posts, seems to be the case) have your parents donate a building at your college of choice. It’s no guarantee, but it’s the best you can do. Are you a US citizen or international? Admission is tougher for international students, so even donating a building is no guarantee.

I agree with BrownParent. You need a dose of reality. Is 14 too young to work in a soup kitchen or homeless shelter?

Your first post came in at 3:36 am on the East coast of the US, your second at 4:18 am.

Perhaps most of the people who would have responded were still asleep? Many, though not all, of them have begun school and are no longer on summer sleep schedules.

I have 3 kids. I would split it equally among them and apply it towards their education.

Sports bets

Graduate with 0 student debt. Then invest the rest

^ that is the voice of wisdom. Actually, with that, it might be worth taking a couple years of business and accounting classes, learning a skilled trade - hvac, plumbing, or whatever - then setting up in business.

It sounds odd, but I once knew a retired Navy captain who’d done basically that, because he figured even if he got promoted to admiral, he wouldn’t be able to put 8 kids through Notre Dame (which he did, in fact, do). More opportunity.

“What specific people would you spend it on?”

Um, what exactly does this mean…?

Well with $500,000 you could graduate with no debt… But seeing how not everyone has your privilege of this I guess I’ll have to try for scholarships and work it off
