All I can say is....beautiful. Thanks 1988. That definitely gave me great laugh.

wow. Really, what's the point? (If it was to distract us with a little laughter before decisions come in, it worked...)

I think the point is to show the OP's general lack of honesty. She lied in order to get access to someone's "Why Brown" essay, and who knows if she used it?

I don't think 1988 did it to get laughs, but to point that out instead. Personally, I think doing what the OP did was deplorable...I hope she didn't actually use the material she received.

"Yale never called me for an interview. When I called yale they informed me that interview is not an absolute necessity. I dont think I can get in Yale, so I wrote off Yale."

i never did my interview either. blah. i applied on a whim.

In all fairness, I'd like to hear from BRWNEYES87: Why?

I was asking what the point of making up this thread was.

I agree entirely.

You are correct: it wasn't about laughs. Was it to make an example? In part, although there is no shortage of examples to be made through other posts as well. Was it to try to figure out "why?" I think the intellectual prowess of those who post with integrity here can't help but (at least) wonder.

You applicants of today experience enough challenges and pressures already. You don't deserve deceit to insult all you have legitimately worked for and aspired to through genuine commitment and hard work.

So much for the soapbox.

yes, so much for that

HAHAHA. browneyes. change your username now. come back in october.

although I think its good for a junior to get exposure to this stuff

she only lied about being a junior to get the essays, it would make sense (i'm not about to give my essay away to just anyone....i'd give it to a junior who will be applyig to the same college that I am next year, thus they can't use anything in it the same year that I am) ;).........it was kind of "smart" to do it that way anyways.....Now everyone can trash talk her, but none of us know her (know if it is a her), she'll never have to live in shame for what she did, she'll probably get into the school, she got the essays what does she care anymore. LOL..it's kind of funny.....

ohhh ok

deceitful brown eyes gives scowl

haha heathcliff. it is kinda funny. i mean, what do i care at this point? lol.

I only care about the college decisions shortly to come out

Well I will answer you all now. The first post (about the WHY essays) I got no replies to. I am an honest person and would not have used information like that anyway. I simply thought that people would be more likely to help me if they didnt think I was their competitor. I just wanted to know what the concept of these essays were.

Next, my post about my stats with the WHAT ARE MY CHANCES was an honest post and that is my true information.

The post that I put in for the columbia thread was just done as a joke for myself. I love columbia so much and I thought since everyone else had a 1500 or above, I should just put that in. I just liked looking at it. It made me laugh. I didnt even think that someone would go through the whole post to find my stats.

But anyway, I don't need to prove anything. I just thought I should tell those who were wondering. I am in a bit of a psychotic state around this time. I really hope I get into Columbia and Berkeley and this possible interview has given me hope for Yale.

LOVE YOU ALL AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL

Oh my gosh, I just read the rest of these posts. I feel bad because you guys think i am a bad person. I really would not have used the essays (even if anyone had sent me some). I honestly just wanted some help in knowing HOW to write a WHY essay and how others were making their exciting. I am an amazing writer and my other essays were "beautiful", according to my college counselor, but my college counselor told me that I need to make my WHY essays more exciting. When nobody replied to me the first time I asked for help, I thought that people would be more willing to help a junior, who, as I mentioned, would not be competing with them.
I, in no way even thought of copying someone else's essay. I JUST WANTED TO GET A FEEL FOR HOW OTHERS WERE DOING THEIRS. JEEEEEZZ!! you guys are so mean. I am honest. If I were that kind of dishonest person, I would not care about anything you guys are saying, but IM NOT!! I really am honest. i only wanted a feel, I never would have cheated!!! ALSO< if i had taken someone else's essay, dont you think I would have been caught as well? I am not a cheater, and DONT WORRY<NOBODY OFFERED ME ANY HELP ANYWAY!

Chill browneyes. seeing inconsistencies naturally causes suspicion. Most people who are inconsistent ARE lying, so CCers often jump to that conclusion for every person who does so. Dont worry cause you've proved your innocence :p

Good luck on your interview and hope you make it into Yale :)

but seriously...im confused. my interview is on the 30th...that won't even give enough time to submit the report to the adcom. also, the website says that march 1st is the deadline for interviews

Then you must truly be a borderline case, since that is such a last-minute thing. I suppose the interviewer will email the report or call the admissions office with it immediately after you finish.

No pressure, of course, but there could be a great deal riding on this. :)

but the thing is, what could the interviewer tell them? i mean, what if the interview is just neutral? what can i do then?
