What's a good end of internship thank you gift to a manager?

I'm going to include a thank you card, but I was wondering what would be an appropriate gift in terms of price and substance? I want a small gift that can be placed in the office, so I will be remembered. I was thinking of getting something with my university's logo on it. Do you think that is a good idea?

A card with what you learned and how he helped you out is better than any gift you can buy him.

Was the internship paid? Because if it was not, it would be quite funny getting a gift for your manager thanking them for allowing you to work for free. Don’t you think?

I got my advisors truffles and cards. Expensive, but man, did they love those…

A card will suffice though. And I disagree with Homer28. Just because the internship wasn’t paid, it still takes time and effort to mentor someone. I don’t know what type of internship you did, but this is especially true for science research- even if you aren’t paid you’re still taking their time and their resources.

The internship was paid. I didn’t work directly face-to-face with my manager that much, but I worked with the people who work for him, which I also plan on getting cards. I was wondering if getting a gift with my school’s emblem would be good or just a card.
