I'm considering taking is next year (not this coming school year, but the year after that). If all goes according to plan, I'll probably have one last period open and i'm considering filling that in with AP Art History. Plus history is my favorite subject, so i'm not taking the class just so I can get another AP class on my transcripts.

In my school only like 20 something students take it. mostly seniors and juniors and mostly girls. its loads of fun :D. Although the course itself sometimes is boring, it begins to get more intersting towards the middle of the year. In my school my teacher would set up a projector, and like a college class discuss the painting at hand. its really quite amazing what you learn, its even more fun when you get to seethe references in movies about famous paintings. the AP test is pretty easy. Because art is so subjective you can argue any point and recieve at least some credit. Hope that helped :D

Thanks for the info. Do you do any drawing in that class? Because i’m a horrible artist

No drawing. The class is awesome, especially if you’re interested in art.

It’s a history class, so you don’t have to draw unless you get the wrong teacher.

I thought it was amazing, every single day. But that was mostly because of my teacher, who is an angel. Most days of the week, we did slide notes, which are as described by locoducky. The teacher has a painting, sculpture, building, etc. up on the projector and she tells us some things about it. We also watched an Art History video (usually with Sister Wendy) maybe every other week or so and could get a few bonus points for answering questions for it.
It’s really fun being able to ID art everywhere. Even if I can’t get the artist and title, I can normally get the period.

Amazing class, I went in not caring about art at all but its exciting to be able to recognize paintings in everyday life. I want to go to Europe now to see all of the antique art.

LOL SISTER WENDY. Those videos are simply hilarious. I love her.

I didn’t take Art History, but in Euro a couple years back we had our share of Michael Wood.
