do you take clep as a high school student? or while already in college

CLEP can be taken at any age. Scores are good for 20 years. The important thing is to research the policies of your ending point college and find out which (if any) CLEPs they accept. Also find out if they have a limit on the number of credits that can be earned through CLEP.

Can you take CLEP as a working adult?

Anyone, any age can take CLEP. The scores are good for 20 years.

do u get ap credit if u pass clep?

No, CLEP and AP are different credit-by-exam products offered by the CollegeBoard.
You have to take an AP exam to get an AP score and possible college credit. Likewise, you have to take a CLEP exam to get a CLEP score and possible college credit.

Then does CLEP make a difference in your GPA at all if u do it in high school?

No, unlike AP, high schools don’t offer CLEP classes. A rigorous course, like Honors or AP will help you prepare for CLEP, and these classes generally carry extra GPA points. The CLEP exam won’t affect your GPA at all. It’s something you study for and take on your own. Your CLEP transcript, with a record of all the CLEPs you’ve taken, will be maintained by the CollegeBoard. It costs $20 to send a copy to a college.
