Title says it all

I think 700+ is good for ivy or the-like...
good enough, i guess. amazing would be 750+
Less than 650 could hurt you.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Uh... FYI a 750+ on physics is NOT considered amazing.

well college confidential "amazing" is higher than real life "amazing"

a 750 on any test is good.

800 is a pretty good score

well duh...you cant get above an 800. obviously an 800 is an amazing score

it was sarcastic

790+ is good enough. Preferrably 800, but 790 isn't too bad.
Don't think I'm kidding you because for a lot of the tests 790 is like the 90th percentile which means 10% are better than you. Not exactly good if you are aiming for a competitive college.

Hikaru you scare me...

I think it definitely depends on the test... personally, I think I'll cry if I don't get an 800 on Math II. haha. But if I took chem or something, I think I'd be satisfied with less, as long as it was 750+.

It definitely does depend on which test you take.

For example...a 750 on math IIC would be pretty good...a 750 on korean would be considered pathetic (considering someone who scores a 790 in korean is put in the 40th percentile)...a 750 on any history exam would be considered excellent...a 750 on most sciences would be considered excellent as well. It all depends on which college you're aiming for because if you don't get an 800 on math IIC, you will not be competitive for MIT, whereas if you submit that score for the UC's they will praise you.

yeah, there are a few exceptions, but 750 is a pretty good benchmark, IMO.

750 is not good for physics?

Kaplan claims that 600 is a very solid score.

CC people are a bit above average;)

A BIT ....lol...besides ...SHOOT KAPLAN IN THE ******....cause anything BELOW 600...isnt really that good..and 600 itself really....uhh suxs....

Well it depends on where you're applying and what your ability is, of course. A kid with average intelligence (average, NOT average on CC) who wants to go to an average college might be fine with a 600.

And prep books are geared toward people of average intelligence (yes, they can also help CC people, but they aren't geared toward us) because people of average intelligence make up the largest market...therefore, they're not going to SAY that 600 is a bad score

^ Yeah, good point.

a bad score would probably be a 200-500. if you get between that range when you practice, dont take that subject test.

No kidding, a 200 is bad??
