ap chem is easier.
bio is harder.

Ah which one has more work? (Homework,…Assignments)

Umm so chem was a fail for me because it’s a mix of memorization and application/math. Bio was soo easy. All memorization

If you are good at math but have a bad memory, Chem will be easier. If you struggle with math and have a good memory, bio will be easier. It all depends on your individual strengths.

Metalmeat, bio was more homework for me simply because it was more notes/reading. It depends on the class/teacher, though.

CChem
I have the highest mark in bio, but I’m barely passing chem, I have to take nightschool
But I dont get that because I’m taking Functions class, and it’s HARD math… chem is just easy math, but hard to understand.

I took AP Bio. It was a *****. But at least it’s easier to comprehend than

AP CHEM which I will be taking next year. I’ve heard Chem is a lot harder.

Really bio has more work? I would think Chem would have more work. Out of your opinion I’m taking 4 AP’s next year: AP Psych, AP English, APUSH are 3 of them. 3 Honors:
Pre Calc Honors, Spanish 3 Honors, and Physics Honors. I’m deciding between AP Chem and AP Bio. With that kind of courseload which one would I able to handle more? I took Bio Honors in 9th and Chem Honors in 10th.

physics honors, ap english (im assuming language and composition?), APUSH, and AP psych are all pretty easy. id go with whichever your favorite subject is.

haha, that’s an easy question. Of course, AP Biology is harder! My teacher said it is the hardest AP out there. I don’t know if AP Chemistry is hard but I bet AP Biology is much harder. The reason AP Biology is harder is because there are TONS of concepts to learn and must be memorized. I just finished AP Biology during my senior year of high school and I barely passed with a C. The tests are really hard too. Especially the multiple choice ones. I suggest you take AP Chemistry instead if you want an easier class. I’ve never taken AP Chemistry cuz my school doesn’t offer it. I wouldn’t know about that, but Chemistry is hard for me since it involves math. If you have a good memory and willing to work really hard then take AP Biology. It’s a boring subject though. Ughh too much crap to remember. Good luck!

It’s funny because memorization helps with everything, so technically it’d help with chemistry in the ability to memorize how the apply what to what to figure out what, but it sort of doesn’t. Those who have taken chemistry know what I mean. :P

I took naps in AP Biology. Easy easy class.

Now, I think I actually am leaning towards AP Chem even though I’m signed up for AP Bio, I just have to call to switch. How much of the Honors Chem material is in AP Chem, and how much harder does it get?

I took honors chemistry when I was a sophomore. Not really an easy class, depends on the teacher. I still got an A for both semesters. I took AP Chemistry last year, and boy, I consider it 10x harder. It’s just constant information, formulas, ideas, and concepts you would have to memorize. I’m more of a chem person. I loathe biology and its boring taxonomy. :)

I hate AP Bio!!! I don’t know about other people, but it’s so boring!!!

AP Chem, uhhhhh, hard. I’ll say that.

bumping a 3-4 year old thread.

AP Biology has the lowest curve out of the AP tests, so I would say it is quite difficult. Chemistry was easier for me because I’m a problem solving type person.

Now it’s not just memorization, you have to do analytical work and a lot more thinking to answer the questions—I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THE AP PERCENTAGES THIS YEAR AND WATCH THE DRAMATIC DROP :)

I took gen chem at harvard (for the summer program) so I guess thats kind of like ap chem. I would say that chem is defiantly more analytical thinking and not just memorization. Obviously there is some memorization for formulas and stuff but the questions are kind of trying to figure your way through a maze. My class was 6 weeks so it was really hard but I would Imagine that if you had a year for ap chem then it would def be easier. I would def recommend taking ap chem before ap bio because that way you will have a better understanding of why things in ap bio are rather than just memorizing them.

I heard that AP Chem was harder because it has formulas and stuff

I’m taking AP Bio this year and AP Chem next year
