Biology is more of a comprehension/"it's a story" kind of thing.

ap biology is conceptually not very difficult, but the fact that our teacher expects us to go home & right away read about 15 pages of text book a night & basically dedicate our SOULS to the class makes things really hard. not to mention her tests are a KILLER & we basically move at the speed of light :/

also, we have a few geniuses scattered throughout her classes, so 'if they can do it, we all can'. curves are not an option, even though 60+% of us need it, lol :(

"the AP test will be a breeze compared to the tests i give u."
"yeah, if i survive until then !^@#&#@"
*sigh

loonlake:"AP Chemistry is a great class of you like staying up until 4 AM doing stoichiometric conversions, skipping lunch to study in the library, compulsively crying to your pillow night after night, spending $300 dollars on a fancy calculator, being yelled at by your parents, getting busted for cheating on a weekly basis, spending time with your counselor, touring community colleges, breaking your shoulders from a heavy backpack, all to result in getting a D."

i just saw this & lol'd. being in bio right now, i can relate to a lot of your points..."compulsively crying to your pillow night after night" haha, YEP. lol :/

I would say Chemistry by far.

Biology = memorization.

Chemistry = crappy equations that are hard to use and just become so annoying you just wanna die. :P

AP Biology. So much information...

I love how split this is...... And making this decision harder to make. :(

Is it true AP Chemistry is no way like Chemistry Honors? I mean like, you can have a 98% in Chem Honors and fail AP Chem even if you study really hard. The material is beyond hard… That’s what my friend who’s in AP Chem said to me. I found this hard to believe, and swayed me in choosing AP Bio over AP Chem. Since I couldn’t choose which one to take. Now AP Chem is just a backup in case I change my mind before school starts.

^ It depends on the school. If you’re interested in the college credit, go for whichever AP exam you think you’ll do better at. If you think you’d be better at memorization, go with Bio. If you think you’d be better at applying more difficult concepts and using math go with Chem.

AP Chem. AP Bio I think is easier but it’s just a lot of concepts and piecing together information and like the others said a bunch of memorization too.

If you haven’t taken Bio H. since 9th and forgot a lot you take AP in 11th will you still do fine in it? (but will review with CliffNotes over Summer)

If you have a good memory, bio is easy. If you don’t it’s harder.

And MM, I took regular bio in 9th grade and AP bio as a senior. I got a B first semester and an A the second semester with no prior review

After having taken the AP test and the final, I have to say that if you read the book, you will do well in AP Biology.

ap chem is just another name for death. furrealz.

^that’s just about how i felt going into the exam. :]
it’s all fake anyways so there’s no use learning chemistry either, or that’s the conclusion i’ve come to. ( :
ap bio is better. it’s just knowing things about the study of life aka bio. bio test was easier than the chem test too, because there was no necessity of bsing on it. i’d choose bio over chem any day.
btw, if you fail at bio, you fail at life, so don’t take the class if you fail at life because you’ll most def. fail at bio. [just a thought]

A chimp could get an A in AP Bio.

Is it necessary take Chem course before take AP Bio? My d is going to take AP Bio and Chem (regular) next year the same time. Is it doable?

Both are pretty easy at my school, and if you struggle you can always get extra help from a teacher.

For me it was AP Chemistry because AP Biology is just the memorization of the concepts of life, while AP Chemistry is about applying different methods of math to figure out random stuff I don’t particularly like or want to discuss. <.<

Depends on your strengths. Bio is more memorization, Chem is more math.

Chem comes a lot easier to me, but that’s a personal preference.

I’m a mixture. I have no idea what to except from AP Chem compared to Honors Chem.

AP Chem is 100x easier for me but that’s probably because I hate memorization and that’s really all AP Bio is.

Lol, I thought AP chem was easier than honors bio.

AP chem was just reading on the assigned nights, which took about 40 minutes. Homework was about ~30 minutes, when we had it. Went over concepts in class, didn’t have to memorize much. Pretty sure I got a 4 on the test, hoping for a 5.

Bio honors was a TON of memorization. I can’t even imagine AP.
