whats harder--math 53 or 54?

Just curious. I'm in 53 right now, and its super easy (granted, its still only the third week) but i've heard people say 54 is easier, which seems weird because you have to do a bunch of differential equations in 54, where in 53 its just all the same stuff you learn in 1A and 1B but with another variable.

54 is linear algebra. My GSI told me that the material is different from 53. However, some concepts from calculus are used.

54 is linear algebra and differential equations. (both, in one semester)

54 is way harder. It always baffle me to hear people say the other way around

I took both 53 and 54 during the same semester. 54 is a lot easier and simpler than 53 until you get towards the very end (Double Fourier Series).

Azure, I've been asked never to do that by my college advisor. Did it end up well for you?

20LEGEND - Yup, things worked out fine. The two courses are very independent of each other and didn't interfere with each other at all.

I agree with Azure. I took Math 53 and it was easy, but Math 54 is even easier so far (by the end of this week). From what I've heard, Math 54's difficulty is not continuous - it jumps up from 0 to infinity when you get to differential equations.
