Whats it like in Bursley

Just had a few questions. How are the room sizes, is there AC, is there wireless internet, is the food really that good, what furniture is already in the room, would you recomend bringing a fridge and microwave, what about a printer? Thanks for answering.

Here’s what I’ve heard so far…
There is no AC unless you requested for one. There is wireless (through the whole building?). Compared to that in Mojo and West Quad, the food in Bursley is ok. You can rent a micro-fridge. Some people bring a printer, some don’t.

Room size: pretty decent size. If you bunk, you’d have an insane amount of space for a dorm. I suggest that if you like walking around freely

AC: Bring a fan.

Wireless: My year half the dorm had wireless. I can’t speak for recent updates

Food: You will enjoy the food for the first couple months, then realize it sucks. Just a warning. Enjoy their ice cream

Furniture: (assuming you’re a double). Two beds, two mattresses, two chairs, two desks, two dressers, two closets.

Yes, bring a fridge and microwave

Printer: if you feel lazy and can’t walk all the way to the rescomp which is by the lobby, bring a printer I guess. But otherwise, no need

Any other qs you can PM me.

My double was decent, can’t remember the exact size. There’s wireless throughout Bursley, I believe. The food’s alright, hits (chicken broccoli bake) and misses. There’s always soup and a salad bar. The breakfast omelets are pretty good imo. They provide a bed w/ mattress, a drawer and a small desk if you have building block furniture. There’s also a small wardrobe. You can rent a fridge, and whether you want a fridge and microwave is up to you. There’s a ResComp site w/ computers, printers, scanners, etc. so you can print a document from your room and pick it up from the ResComp site on the first floor.

AC? really???
Personally, I think even a fan is unnecessary.
bursley is alright, i don’t think the food is as good as markley or mojo, but it is pretty spacious, which is really good for socializing w/ people.

I lived in Bursley. Rooms are 11 by 13 I believe (doubles). There is no air conditioning and most of the building is wireless (even though it is, ethernet cables are nice for higher speeds). I would bring a microwave and a small fridge to keep food in your room such as breakfast before class. The food in the caf. is good, in my opinion, others thought differently. I brought a printer first semester and took it out because the computing labs have printers in which you can connect to and print to using a simple website. Plus, you get like 500 printing pages per semester.

Does Bursley have towel racks? What are the walls made out of (someone said that the command hangers won’t stick to cinder block)?

Towel racks- yes, behind the door. Well, I used them for towels.
