with a 3.3 or 3.2 or 3.4 overall hs gpa and a 1800ish SAt score, and with a bunch of extra activities what UC's or private schools do i have a chance at

With the GPA it may be hard to do well at the top UCs. Even so, some of the 'lower end' UCs are still very competitive. Some people get into Berkeley with those SAT scores, so they may not be such a big deal at the UCs, but may provide trouble eslewhere. First, you should define what your 'ideal' college is before you try to figure out what schools you * could * get into. There are many colleges that will accept you with those credentials, but simply enumerating them won't help you.

It is my impression that GPA counts for ALOT at all of the UC's, but especially UCLA, UCB, UCSD, UCI, and UCSB. So, even though you may hear about people who get into the UC's with 1800-ish SAT's, you can be sure that their (UC)GPA's are top notch. The OP should try to bring his GPA up as I have heard of a lot of kids being admitted to schools after showing a strong upward trend during their junior year. Aside from the UC's, there are a lot of good schools that will take a B student with good SAT's. Try Northern Arizona, Pepperdine, Loyola, Colorado, Cal State schools, USF, Santa Clara, or a myriad of non top 25 schools. Good luck!
