I'm a current junior in high school & would like to know which UC's I can get into.

I currently have a 3.31 UnCapped GPA
I'm ranked in the top quarter of my class
I'm currently taking 3 AP classes and 1 Honors class
I run Track
I'm in 6 clubs
I have 45 community service hours but am working to earn more
My PSAT score was 158
I'm taking the SAT this spring

Which UC’s are you looking at? The average GPA for most of the UC’s is 4.0 or greater. Aim for an SAT of at least 1800 to be considered at UCSC/UCR/UCM. For the rest of the UC’s, you should aim for a 2000+. 6 different clubs seems a little excessive. Focus on 1 or 2 that could include some leadership and passion.

Follow that link. On the right side you’ll find links to freshman profiles for all of the UCs.

Honestly, with a 3.3 weighted gpa, you are going to need a heck of an SAT score (2000+) to be in serious contention for UCs. Prep your butt off and do your best.

I’d suggest you look into some of the CSUs - include a few less competitive ones on your ap list.

Good luck.

I’m currently looking at UCSD, UCI, UCD, and UCR

Like NCalRent stated if you are interested in UCSD/UCI/UCD, you would need at SAT of 2000+ to make up for the low GPA. UCR is getting more competitive so you should really aim for a high SAT score also. Just for information, this year UCR offered many higher performing students scholarships to entice them to enroll. My son received a Chancellor Scholarship for $5000. Good Luck and do your best.

You might be good for UC Riverside, Merced, and possibly Santa Cruz. Try to get you SAT score up to at least 1900 for those schools. You also might consider the ACT.

Thank You For The Advice. I Will Now Work Harder to Achieve My Goals.

I’m not here to rain on your parade but, working harder now (2nd semester Jr year) won’t make much difference on youe UC ap. Do the math - straight As will bring your GPA up to 3.6 max. My unsolicited advice to you is to continue to do your best in school. Prep your butt off for the SAT and ACT and see where you are in 6 months. At that point, you’ll have a much clearer picture of the schools you’ll qualify for. There’s no shortage of good schools that would be happy to have you. The CSU system exists for students like you. UCs aren’t the only path to a happy, successful life and they aren’t for everyone.

Perhaps re-frame your goal to a longer horizon - I want to be a, accountant, laywer, engineer, work for Google or whatever. Think about the end state and find a path that willl get you there.

Good luck.
