I recently requested to be reconsidered for admission and today, the box with all the check marks on the pittconnect website are gone. So, I called and she said (in a good mood) you should be receiving your DECISION within 10-15 days! And before when I emailed the counselor for my original decision she said, you should be receiving a LETTER shortly.

Do you think this a good sign because it takes longer for the bigger letter to get to me as where the denied letter took only a day or two. (PA Resident)

Has this happened to anyone else OR have a similar story??
I really want to go to Pitt, it's my number 1!!

Depends, Did you ask for reconsideration with improvements on your SAT scores or GPA and stuff or did you appeal the rejection without any new updates ? You probably knew that Pitt doesn’t care about extra curricular and PA resident. If your scores were updated, it would help if you post the stats with which you got rejected and your new stats…there is no way to tell an admission officer’s mood(since they reject thousands and accept only hundreds) over the phone but if you are positive that she was happy then it might be a good thing
Also, which college did you apply to ? business ? engineering? pre-med ?

Old Act Composite: 20
New ACT Composite: 23 with a 25 on math (raised from an 18 to a 25) Reading: 20
raised my NGA from an 85% to an 87% and showed how well I was doing in my first marking period / updated transcript.
Added an amazing letter of recommendation as well as updated resume and a new essay on why I want to go to Pitt.
Applied to Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences as “undecided”

I also find that admissions counselors usually say “letters will be mailed out shortly” as denied and “you should be receiving your decision in the mail soon” as accepted… I’ve had this experience at other schools. So we’ll see!

Although your stats quite are below the 25th percentile at pitt, adding the new transcript has definitely helped you. You applied undeclared which means you have chances…keep this post updated…don’t loose hope because there are people with 2.7 GPA or people with 1500 SAT that get into pitt.
