I just got accepted as a transfer (will have completed 32 credits at a community college in NY by the time i start at RU) paid the 150 dollar acceptance fee and was wondering what my next move was. Visit the campus? already have seen it...I'm not sure if i have to take any of those placement tests as a transfer? When does RU notify you about your credits transfering to RU? I already signed up for a transfer orientation day on 7/9, thats good right? I'm looking to sign up for classes and housing still.

That was an unorganized rant but can anyone steer me in the right direction as to what my next move is?

Okay basically, you’re going to have a degree evaluation sent to you (not anytime soon if you just got admitted). For transfers, they have something called STARS day. They will either send you an email or an invitation in the mail. STARS days are there specifically for students who get admitted as transfer students. Here, you will meet with an advisor, register for classes, etc…it’s a pretty long day. I haven’t gotten my invitation yet, so don’t worry, I believe they happen in June/July. When it comes to housing, there is something called an Enrollment Pathway. Here, it’s a checklist that you can see of what kind of progress you’re making online when it comes to handing in your housing, getting your immunization forms in, setting up your campus email ID/username, etc. Google Rutgers Enrollment Pathway and you’ll find the login - just make sure you know your RUID ID. The first time you login it will be a PDF letter or something saying congrats on getting in - then a few hours later when I logged in again it was the checklist, I think you just need to activate it by logging in for the first time. When it comes to placement tests - DO NOT take any placement tests on your own. They told me to wait for a credit evaluation, and based on that evaluation they will TELL YOU if you need to take any tests. I hope this helps. Feel free to private message me if you have any other questions.

How long after putting in your deposit did you get a credit evaluation?

thank you VERY much scold. I’ve looked through enrollment pathway after i originally posted, i’ve gotten acouple checks already from getting a rutgers email, signing up for a july transfer day orientation, etc. Now what i really just want is to get my credit evaluation and hope i dont need any placement tests.

Do you think during my transfer orientation day is when ill meet with advisers and set up my schedule of classes? or is it at one of those STARS days?

Beast:

I have not gotten my evaluation yet, the advisors said sometime this month or June, but she said “they’re on their way.”

The orientation for us transfer kids: we will not be registering for classes these days. Orientation for us is going to be a lot of meeting new people, about housing, taking the buses around campus, getting to know where everything is, etc. The STARS day will be for registering.

Also, not sure if you guys know this but anyone who is a transfer and will be full time is required to take a 1 credit course which is basically about transferring to rutgers and help us adjust. Seemed kind of lame but hey, it’s only one credit and all it is is them giving us tours and explanations and whatever.
