When we brought S to Tulane last year one of the speakers mentioned that each year they were going to try and build a new dorm. At the time SoHo was in the process of being completed. Have they stuck to their goals? We are visiting again this week with D. I don't have time for a tour so I'm gonna give her the tour and I just want to know if there is anything I should tell her thats changed since a year ago.

Thanks

Quite a bit I think. As far as a new dorm, I believe they have either started or will start soon on one behind Bruff, on the old Zimple building site… As far as I know, they are sticking to the plan to build the new dorms and to have them all be residential college style in about a decade.

You undoubtedly already know they plan to have a new stadium on campus in a couple of years, so that would definitely impact your D.

I remember reading something about a science/engineering building major renovation recently being started. Don’t know the details. Same with the main library, there is an addition that will start soon that required them to raze a couple of house-like buildings (non-academic, I think) behind it.

Here is a web site that gives the basics. [Tulane University - Construction at Tulane](http://tulane.edu/construction/index.cfm)

Thanks fallenchemist I knew you would reply. I do remember the new stadium. I saw that and D will be very happy about that. Thanks for the update. I will keep it in mind so she will be well informed.

Take care

They are currently building a research lab by Boggs, but that’s academic. About the Zimple upperclass dorm, it won’t be ready till school year 2014-2015. But they are also thinking about building a new dining facility at the same time.
