Anyone's kids live through construction the last few years at Tulane. D got an email from the school that they will be constructing 3 new buildings next door to her dorm. Construction 6 days a week. starting at 7:30 weekdays and at 9 on saturdays.
She already was unhappy getting placed in Warren Hall to begin with.

My son was in Monroe during the construction of the Business School building. While there was noise and worker all around, he wasn't bother by it as his room was on the back side of Monroe.

I know your daughter must be frustrated, but tell her to hang in there. I bet she will enjoy being in Warren after she gets settled.

I don't think it will be THAT bad. If it is, request a move after you get there.

When will most of the construction be finished?

The University Center is expected to be completed in January, 2006, according to the website, but my son heard that it may not be ready until the following academic year. Anyone have the scoop on this? Son is a junior now and it began when he was a freshman. I don't know if this is typical with other colleges, but construction seems to move very slowly at Tulane. I'm sure it will be very nice when it is finished, though!

It's the Big Easy. What can ya do?
