Is it worth coming back to the bitter cold a week early to rush? Is it weird, I'll probably be going to all rush events on my own? What is it like, does it just require me to go to different houses and mingle with a bunch of preppy guys? What kind of things do these frats look for in rushees? Will I be expected to drink? Will I be expected to go to events every day?

How much are fraternity dues, should I get accepted? Do I have to live at the house at some point? What's the pledging process like?

This is borderline on inflammatory.
To answer your straightforward questions about dues and living at the house, you can easily get those answers from the official Cornell website.

I couldn’t find anything on the website about dues, hence I asked here. The website also said that living in the house depends on the frat but anecdotal evidence says otherwise, that you have to live in the house, something I don’t want to know/can’t because I have a lease next year. This evidence also told me that dues were $200 a month, but not only does this seem a lot, this person was also living in the house, so that may have had an effect.

I wanted advice from people who had rushed and could give me advice based on their experiences.
