WHat's the best form of government?

socialist democracy

The "best" form of government is communism as it is ideally supposed to run.

But it sure as hell isn't the most practical.

Capitalist Democratic Republic. Survival of the fittest.

libertarian (with public education and taxes, please), democratic-republic government. capitalist economy.

communism all the way!!! Woot!!! We need to resurrect Lenin or something. Socialism sucks ass, and democracy polarizes.

Capitalism does not promote survival of the fittest UC_Benz. It promotes survival of the most corrupt and most unscrupulous.

I'm studying for a comparative government test right now, and I've reached the conclusion that there is no perfect government. Every one has some advantages over others!

A tyrannical dictator is generally the best leader to have in a time of war for instance!

Communism should in theory work; however it has never been allowed to work as it should... The very notion of a communist revolution where you educate people completely goes against what Marx said had to occur. Under his theory communism is a form of political evolution, and is not something that can be forced... So the world has never seen a communism as it was intended.

I need to get back to work, but if you guys really want to see a weird type of system, look up a Theocracy.

Allena, before Communism can work, humanity has to first answer the toughest question of all...how do we overcome scarcity? As lomng as scarcity exists, communism will not work.

Of course it does. It may not be a pure Social Darwinism system, but the fittest businesses still prevail.

90% of all businesses fail. The ones that don't are the ones that can sell their product/service in the most effective way. Sounds like survival of the fittest to me.

UC_Benz, you are an idealist. I see the whip of time has not yet turned you into the cynic that I have become! LOL Capitalism is only worthwhile when the proper systems are in place to ensure fairness and honorable practices.

I would pick a Socialist Democracy, which looks great on paper, but doesn't always work in real life unfortunately.

Yes, I think we can all learn from Canada's mistake.

Capitalist Democratic Republic. Survival of the fittest

Rich become richer, and poor become poorer. That ruins the whole poiny of establishing a governing body.

The sole purpose of a governing body is not to regulate the economy. That is just a small piece of the pie.

That is just a small piece of the pie.

Thats small piece has a massive impact. Being in an economics major, you should know that such governmants may create in monopolies, and you dont want me to talk about monopolies because i am well aware of the problems.

I think we can all agree that communism is #1. worshipping Mao, lenin, stalin well, not really, but I do think communism is the most effective type of government.

Communism has good intentions. But you are right, they are the worst, especially with corrupt leaders like Castro.

I think communism has been beneficial for China. Despite what people say, China would still have imperialism if it wasn't for communism. And now that communism is slowly fading away, China's economy is soaring and it even has the potential to become a world power.

China's economy is soaring and it even has the potential to become a world power.

I agree. Its a pretty strange incident though. Just look at Cuba. Well anyways, good luck to China!

I disagree intoxicatednight. Communism prevented China from becoming a world power.
If you want to have this discussion with me then you should start a new thread because this thread is about the best type of government.
