Whats the best prep book for ap enviromental science?

bump.....doesn't anyone know?

I got one by Michael Lopatka, published by Awesome Guides Inc. b/c it was recommended by some guy on amazon, but you definitely don't need any books for the APES exam. My teacher/class was awful, I didn't learn anything, and I still got a 5.

OMG DO NOT GET BARRON'S! It's the worst book I've ever seen. I hate it more than my US history book. Hehe, mine is the first review for it on Amazon.com.

Anyway, I used one of the textbooks by G. Tyler Miller, which helped me a lot. I'd recommend looking at the PDF document that explains the APES exam and checking out the recommended textbooks. They should be available at your local library.

I've heard good things about REA. I don't know how PR's book will be - the one being released in January is the first edition.

HOLY DAMN

don't get barrons
UNLESS
you know how to pick our key points
it's reallyyy detailed.

i used it, and it screwed me up to a 4

Did you guys self study for this AP exam?...... I'm taking AP French, US History, and Psych next year (as a junior) - I was just thinking about self-studying for AP Environmental Sciences (it isn't offered at my school). Any advice would be great.

i self studied

1 month
barrons
skimm

I'm taking AP Environmental Science next year, so I've been doing some research on the cram books available. REA is 560 pages and Barron's is 528 pages, and from what I've heard, they're both filled with useless information. There's no use reading a cram book that's longer than your textbook! The Awesomeguides one is shorter, but my friends who took the course and my teacher all said that it doesn't cover the stuff you need to know for the AP exam.

My teacher recommended a book called "The Smartypants' Guide to the AP Environmental Science Exam" by Michelle Mahanian. That's the one I bought, and just skimming through it, it looks really good. It covers all the topics on the AP Exam, and it's only about 120 pages long (including the practice test and explanations, index, etc.)- pretty good for a lazy bum like me :) Here's the website where I bought it: http://www.lulu.com/content/154552

Hope this helps!

Mmm. I bought REA, Barron's, and borrowed my teacher's Amazing Guides. I did NOT use a textbook, and my course taught me close to nothing (we watched movies everyday, it was gross).

Amazing Guides was good for vocabulary, maybe practice tests, but I used it for nothing else.
I read Barron's and highlighted what I felt was important, but I don't know how it all stuck with me?
... I did an intense 8-day study with REA right before the exam and read the entire thing, did all the practice tests ... I thought that REA was AMAZING.

Got a 5 on the late exam. (Had chemistry during normal time)
