What's the best way to get an 800 on SAT Writing?

So I got a 690 with 4 errors and 9 on essay. I have Erica Meltzer’s book, and am looking to improve my score to at least a high 700 in the writing section. What is the best way to realize this? Is the book itself enough to accomplish this goal, or do I need more resources. I feel very strong on Improving paragraphs, but Error IDs can be a little iffy for me.

Then the book is enough, for at least a high 700.

That book should be enough, but for an 800 you must not miss any grammar Qs. Obviously an 11 or 12 essay can help, but the real score rests on the MCQ, since nothing can guarantee an 11 or 12.

I got an 800 with a 9 essay. The essay can’t hold back a score or boost it very much. Focus on the MC. I used Khan Academy writing practice questions to make a very modest growth from 76 to 80 on MC. I would recommend trying Khan Academy for writing because it’s free and there are a ton of writing questions on it. But then again, I’m not sure how much longer Khan prep for the old SAT will be available. Also, be very wary of the “no error” option in find the error questions.

How can i prepare for the idiomatic questions that occur on these tests? I usually only miss these questions

I would recommend using Quizlet or flash cards to MEMORIZE idioms. A list of idioms can be found by googling.

^agree. Check out Prepscholar’s lists; they suffice.
