What's the commute to school like for you?

This is pretty cool how people have friends who take boats to school. HAHA. My mom drives me to school, 5-10 minutes depending upon her willingness to go way over the 25 MPH Speed Limit. She may go 30, she may go 50. She annoys me all the way there by singing or asking me why I’m a cranky ****. I then lie about how I went to sleep at a normal hour, but the truth is I get 3 hours of sleep a night for no reason at all. She’s pretty funny, as she was a stand-up comedian for 10 years, and a caterer for like 15. My bus is the last stop, therefore full, so it’s pretty dumb to ride it. I just told you the life story of my mom… >_< That’s not what the OP asked of me, but hey there you go.

I should walk too, but it’s uphill/downhill both ways and I have a heavy bag soo…Maybe next year?

I live in the S.F. Valley (Greater Los Angeles area). My school is two minutes away from my house by car, like its on the same street. Everyone at school knows where I live because they all sit in traffic in front of my house when I am leaving in the morning. It’s funny because I will meet someone new at school and they will tell me that they’ve seen me leaving my house in the morning. It’s also really convenient when I leave books and stuff at school. I don’t know what I will do next year if I go to UCLA…I’m not used to getting up.

I walk a whole 50 feet from my dorm room to the majority of my classes.

Whoot for college :D

High school commute was normally about 10 minutes, but I carpooled and picked up people along the way, so it ended up being about a half hour.

In high school I woke up at 7:40, left the house at 7:50 and my mom drove me to school (which started at 8). I had a 40 minute walk home.

In college, I try to wake up an hour before class and leave 20-30 minutes in advance. Except for days I have no class ;)

10 minutes to get to school, 15 minutes to get back home (because everyone leaves at once at the end of the day).

Dude…do you go to Bishop?

Pfft, lazy. I walk up 3 looong flights of stairs, including the ones up to school. Where do you live though? R______n Road?

A dark, foggy, and cold 8 minute drive.

^^ Hmm I think I know where u live. Wow I look like such a stalker! I live, on a verry steep road.

^ Ohh, I think I know where you live. HAHA. We’re amazingly deductive.

amazingly annoying bus rides with amazingly annoying kids
(k-12 school)

^this is why I’m not happy when my bus home is combined with the middle school bus.
It was even better when I caught another bus and I had all the grades to deal with. But now it’s just us with the middle schoolers who talk about the people they kissed and who’s going out and everything, which just seems really childish coming from them. So young…

ANYway. Under the absolute best conditions it takes about 18 minutes to get to school. This never happens on weekdays. On an average day it’s about 40-45 minutes. Hooray for private schools and the worst traffic in the nation. =P

Once it took FOUR HOURS because some STUPID STUPID politician decided to have a rally in the middle of the city on a week day. I was SO ****ed. Luckily none of the kids needed to go potty. I basically had to go from one end of the city to the other so whenever anything happened, riots for example, my mom would let me bunk school.

Ah the kids in my van were very difficult as well. Once an older boy called me a w**** for the ENTIRE journey cuz I refused to listen to his stupid demands and after that, the younger brats would spend ALL day beating each other up.

^^^ LOL

I live in a city with an amazing public transportation system so it takes me 45 mins by subway to get across the city where my school’s at. Takes me an hour by bus, but I have to transfer twice. The latter allows me to sleep the whole way there till the transfer and is cheaper.

Oh Putturani, that’s why I decided to take transportation into my own hands.

3 minute walk to bus stop, 10 minute drive to school.

"Dude…do you go to Bishop? "

nope I go the ****ty public school nearby aka West. No, it’s not worth the drive but I moved into LA senior year and 1. I don’t want to get shot and 2. I went there for 3 years, might as well graduate there.

It takes me about 10 seconds to walk to my bus stop (it’s right outside my house), then I have to wait for the bus for about 5 minutes or so. The bus ride is only like 10 or 15 minutes. Not very hard at all.

10 minute carpool in the morning, 30 minute bus ride + 5 minute walk in the afternoon. If we had decent bike paths I’d walk home.

It’s about 35 minutes in the morning, 50 minutes if I go home right when school ends, and an hour or more if I leave school later than 4. And it’s only 13 miles away
Basically, I hate LA traffic.
