What's the commute to school like for you?

I'm from NYC, so commuting is a real pain. Each day, I have to take a bus and two subways to and from school. It takes about two hours each way (huge waste of my time). I can't believe I've survived all this misery for the past [almost] four years of my high school life. Then again, I have friends whose only way of getting to school is via a boat (Staten Island ferry... Ridiculous much?

Wow that blows. Mine is a 5 minute drive

20 minute drive…if I speed I can do it in 15 minutes.

I walk. It takes me like 15 minutes. (:

About 20 minutes. I go to private school, though. If I went to public school, it would be like 2 minutes.

25 miles each way from LA to torrance… 35-40 minutes on the motorcycle (car pool lane) up to an hour in the car…

Motorcycle?!?! that’s extremely rad.

I live in NYC also and my school is in a different neighborhood. I commute for about 10 minutes on one train. Commuting is a breeze except though days when the trains don’t work.

i live about five minutes away from my school

Five minute drive.

yeah it’s fun, altough the novelty has worn off for the most part. especially when you’re riding on the crappy freeways with bumps everywhere. it is extremely fast though  much faster than my old car.

A 25 minute bus ride. I sleep the entire way.

Mine’s a 10 minute drive (~8 miles). On a side note, I pass by a llama every morning and afternoon haha :)

I read that as “I waltz” and I was about to commend you on being insanely awesome.

I live in the suburbs outside NYC, so I don’t get to take the subway to school until next year (when I start attending Hunter!). For now, I take the 5-minute bus ride to school every day…because I’m one of those few seniors who doesn’t have a car/license. :/

I walk- 15-20 minutes depending on how tired I am. I have friends who have to wake up at 5:something to catch the ferry and then take the bus to school though- they live on an outlying island.

sometimes i’ll get a ride and walk home, or sometimes i’ll drive both ways.
at worst, it’s a 10 minute drive. maybe a 10 minute walk, too, depending on how leisurely i’m going.

edit: i only drive if the weather’s bad, i have errands to run, or will be leaving school really late. i do realize it’s a pretty short distance.

For my old school, it was between 45min-80 min drive. It was PAINFUL> For this school, it’s a 25min walk, 10-15min bus ride. It’s luxurious in comparison.

45 second drive if I make both the lights. Otherwise it maxes out at 2-3 minutes. I probably should walk to save gas, but I’m too lazy.

I walk to school because I literally live 2 minutes away and it’d be pointless to drive. It’s good exercise too, and I’ve been walking to school since kindergarten so I don’t really see it any other way.
