for (straight) girls.
just curious, because i've heard its the "gay ivy"

although i'm not a girl responding to your comment, i can tell you that the "one in four, maybe more" adage is an exaggeration.

to give you an idea of what it's really like, my residential college's freshmen (100 students) has 7 or 8 gay guys. there are more straight guys than you think, lol.

Still, 7-8 out of about 50 is ~15%. Not bad odds for the 'mos :-)

lol thanks guys

But honestly, what is the hook up scene like (for all groups - straight guys and girls, and gay guys and girls)?

drbigboyjoe: good point, the question was exactly answered lol

I dunno what you're looking for in terms of an answer. It's fine; you can participate in a hookup culture, you can do more traditional dating, or you can mix and match.

I wouldn't say that there's "a lot" of dating, but there's enough that you can seek it out if you want.

I personally get the vibe that the occasional to semi-regular hook up is preferred to the traditional relationship here. But you can definitely find both. Plus that applies to a whole bunch of schools, not just Yale.

Well, you kind of answered my question (both Jules and Admit). I just wanted to know whether [random] hook ups happen often at Yale or if it was more "dating-oriented." Thanks!
