I didn't apply to Brown, Bowdoin, and Penn because I was too scared (really regretting that now)
I didn't apply to Millersville because then I would be forced to live at home
I didn't apply to UPitt because every one at my school is applying there
I wanted to apply to Middlebury because they have their own ski slope, but didn't because they require too many essays
I didn't apply to Davidson because too many essays!
Applied to Colgate/Hamilton/Colby partly because they were free. I would have narrowed the choices down if they weren't.

I applied(this is actually just part of my reason) to Brown because of brian from Family Guy.
I refused to apply to WashU because it is in Missouri
I refused to apply to any southern university for no particular reason

I didn't apply to Middlebury (even though I've been obsessed with it for along time) because Vermont is too cold, and I had my first car crash on the way to visit the campus so I'm afraid I might not be able to go home if I enrolled.
Almost didn't apply to Clark because I hate Worcester.
Did not apply to Williams because it's too far away from Boston.
Refused to apply to California colleges because I'm scared of the sun and the beach. (Really stupid reason right?)

It's not even hot in the north.

^ Haha yeah I've lived in the north (an hour north of Eureka) for half a year, it was cold most of the time. But I was referring to southern California where most schools are...

Ball State had me write 8 essays (I was also applying to the Honors College)... yet, for some reason, it made me want to apply even more so that I could tell off the people that complained about writing one. At the time it was my first choice, but I cried yesterday when University of Cincinnati's DAAP (second in the nation for my major - first is Harvard I believe) put me on their wait-list. It ended up being my first choice only because it meant I wouldn't have to be two hours away from my fiancee.

I would've applied to Harvard (accepted ED to Smith) because every time I've played most likely to I've gotten most likely to go to Harvard. Also, my brother wanted to see if I could get in.

I applied to Yale just because Blair Waldorf (Gossip Girl) wanted to go there. I got in EA, and now I feel bad that she didn't get in, even though she's completely fictional.

And, I didn't want to apply to Harvard and Princeton because my dad went to Harvard and mom went to Princeton, and I'd hate to go to their old colleges.

I applied to UMass Boston and did not apply to UMass Amherst (apparently the flagship of the Umass system, best out of the Umass campuses) because I thought UMass Boston was the best since both of my parents went there....lol :D

don't you just hate being a legacy at the top two schools in the nation?!

it sucks.

......... oh wait, no it doesn't.

didn't apply to harvard, cos yale was by far my first choice XD

I'm tempted to apply to Wheaton College in MA simply because Wheaton College in IL is nearby and well-known in my school. (Also, I'm liberal and non-Christian.)
Seeing people's faces when I say that I applied to "Wheaton College" would be hilarious.

I didnt apply to MIT because the alums i met were pretentious pr*cks.

I also applied ED to carnegie mellon for some very good reasons as well as stupid reasons. The stupid reasons were:

I live a ghetto -type area filled with row houses and half doubles (kind of like duplex, but think really small and trashy). All of the buildings surrounding pittsburgh reminded me of my ghetto area, which honestly, is kind of homey after awhile. One of the reasons i applied was because of the row houses surrounding the area because i thought it was like a home away from home.

I liked the bathroom in the admissions office and the free refreshments.

They let my mom sleep in the admissions office when i was doing my interview and tracked me down during my PERSONAL tour to give me the purse my mom left there.

Free public transportation, and diversity.

Everyone there seemed weird and i thought id fit in.

I didn't apply to Wake Forest because I was stung by a bee on the campus tour.

Didn't apply to Stanford because of the sheer number of essays, and also because I was slightly intimidated by the vision of Californian people with perfect hair and impossibly white teeth (from The Hills - stupidest show i ever wasted time watching). Lol

Now i'm regretting it big time.

I didn't apply to Dickinson because I was confused which applicant pool was the best for me - EA, ED I, ED II or RD :)

I believe (he won't admit it) that my son chose UGeorgia as his safety because Tucker Max spoke highly of it and thought the girls were really hot.

I applied to UC Santa Barbara b/c I knew I would get in if I applied.
I applied to Berkeley, just to see if I'd get in and because my mom and sister wanted me too, and because they have a top 3 undergrad business school.

I didn't apply to Bowdoin b/c they sent me a letter that said "Dear Student" instead "Dear (my name).
I didn't apply (actually, didn't finish applying to) to U of Miami, b/c there are hurricanes in Florida.
I didn't apply to Boston University b/c I didn't want to spend any more money on college apps, and it was the last one I had to do.
I didn't apply to any of the Cal States, b/c I was pretty sure I could get into all, so I didn't want to waste my time with it.
I didn't apply to Loyola Marymount b/c I didn't want to have to take religion courses (anymore.)

Wow...Rereading this and I sound like a jerk...and stupid..haha

Didn't apply to the East coast because I was afraid of that giant loose piece of land on the coast of Africa falling off and creating a Tsunami that would flood the Eastern Seaboard...

I am an idiot...

here is a link though, kinda scary....

CNN.com - Scientists warn of massive wave - August 29, 2001

I read the article back then....in like 7th grade or something....

WEATHER! I just randomly applied to schools, but I really didn't want to be in cold, so I wont go to Michigan because its so cold there... (I live in MN, I am always freezing, I hate it!)
