didn't apply to UPenn bcuz my family members kept mixin up Pennstate and UPenn and asked which one was the good one every time.
didn't apply to Georgetown becuz it's supposedly full of snobs.
didn't apply to Duke bcuz its too far south and I don't like places that are TOO warm.
didn't apply to Brown bcuz i dislike the color and going to a school with the name of that color was a no-no.
accepted to but didn't want to go to UofChicago because of the ugly girls theory. Pretty true... lol
didn't apply to Harvard because the campus was a decrepit mess when I visited.
didn't apply to Yale because the graveyard by the campus was really offputting X.x
didn't apply to cornell bcuz of the hills...
didn't apply to rice because of the name and because my mom thought that their mascot was a rice cake or something.
didn't apply to brandeis 'cuz the campus was hideous.
didn't apply to vassar because there were too many ultra-liberals
didn't apply to dartmouth because of the name and the sucky location
didn't apply to any california schools because I hear that a major earthquake was supposed to hit any day now...lol

Didn't apply to anything because school is wack.

I am going to become a rapper instead.

Didn't apply anywhere in the middle of the country (states like Missouri, Nebraska, Montana, Kansas, etc) 'cause I've labelled that as 'farm country' since I was like 7.
Didn't even consider places like Colgate and Kalamazoo because of the name and no major I liked.
Didn't apply to UCLA 'cause a ton of people have told me how much of a party school it is
Didn't apply to any rural places - didn't like the thought of spending 4 years in the middle of nowhere
Didn't apply to any Ivies 'cause I'm not a big enough genius and didn't want to waste my money on the $50 app fee.

I have some funny reasons

Why I APPLIED
-UCLA: Education, Excellent Setting, Amazing Weather, Scholarship Money GUARANTEED.
-UC Berkeley: Prestige, Education, Beautiful Campus
-UCI: People I know who go there, Asians!
-UCR: Cause I could'
-CSULB: My best friend goes there and loves it, I figure "I may love it"
-CSUF: Theater department is good.

Why I DIDN'T APPLY:
-UCSC: I looked at a map and couldn't figure where it was
-UCSB: I heard it was a "mess around school" and that I would fall into "partying, alcoholism"
-UC Davis: It looked far and the majors were all agriculture-based from what I saw.
-UCSD: I go to San Diego a lot, I didn't think I'd like a place I know too much
-UC Merced: *** is Merced?
-Yale: Didn't want to send the documentation

Yeah

I'm going to apply to UNC but don't really want to go there because of their ugly blue.

I AM applying to UCLA beacause even though I KNOW I won't get in, you never know.
I am NOT applying to Humboldt because hippies scare me.

Oh and i'm also not applying to any schools with the word "College" in the name, because it sounds too much like a 2 year...only University's for me :D

i really feel like i've posted in this thread but i dont know...

so here's to it anyway:

not pomona becuz my counselor was being a bit*h and not willing to send my stuff until AFTER the deadline because i didnt fill this 'blue form' for him, even when he'd already sent somethings about me (incl. transcript) to hte school anyway... just a big complicated stupid mess

not CMC because i was sooo stuck on the essay: uhh some hero you admire or sth. seriously, all i cud think off was stalin, lenin, hitler and my mom. all dictators, (haha jk, lov eyou mom) but the first 3 was prob due to too much IB HISTORY.

not UC Berkeley / U toronto because they are just too. friggin. BIG. o.0

not williams because its on a hill and in the middle of nowhere-ish.

not harvard because of the whole 'over emphasis on research blah blah , lectures' thing

not columbia because i think they dont have a campus and i don trelaly wan tto go ot NY

not stanford becuz i'm asian and too many ppl at mys chl are applying anyway

not UIUC becuz my dad went there.

and i cant go to my dad's alma mater, esp. if it was uiuc.

stupid, but wtheck~

Didn't apply to UCSB because I read a statistic that 1 in 5? people have an STD there. I do regret it, now that people I know have gotten in/are attending there and love the campus.

I applied to UCSD and UCLA just for the sake of it.

I only applied to schools in NY and SoCal because I'd have a better chance at getting internships and/or job for my major (film).

I applied to Cornell because it had a beautiful campus, my major and reminded me of Hogwarts even though I dislike the fact that it's in the middle of nowhere to me.

Originally wanted to apply to U of Chicago because I thought Chicago was a beautiful city ever since I first saw it in one of my fave movies, My Best Friend's Wedding. Ended up not applying because it was too up north and cold for me.

When I was in the sixth grade and was a huge Harry Potter freak after the 2nd movie came out, I remember my friend and I said that we were going to apply to Oxford U when we were in high school. I wanted to go there because I've always wanted to visit England and somehow land a role in a Harry Potter movie (lmao). Seven to eight years later, my friend and I never applied due to different interests (though we still would love to visit England!). I didn't apply to any school out of the US because I didn't think they would offer me the best for my major.

Didn't want to apply to Stanford or Harvard because I found them so overrated (if you got in, applied or are going to apply, then more power to you). This is due to the fact that when I was younger, I remember my mom talking nonstop about the possibility of a Harvard education in her daughter's future (to the point that I got annoyed) and watching movies that mentioned/had Harvard in them (Legally Blonde anyone?).

I didn't apply to any schools in Massachusetts because I didn't want to spend four years of my life in a land filled with New England Patriots fans (some of their fans are nice, but the majority them are so obnoxious that they make me want to hate the Pats even though they are a talented team...).

So yeah, I applied/didn't apply to schools for some valid and stupid reasons. The stupid reasons, I laugh at.

not princeton cuz it sounds like royalty snobs
not stanford cuz its too far away
not UPenn cuz of that huge bio essay
not MIT cuz its full of geeks with broken glasses stereotype
not Caltech cuz its full of Californian geeks with broken glasses stereotype
not Columbia cuz my friend applied there and i did not want to copy him
not Brown cuz its like a piece of poo
not Cornell cuz it sounds like a redneck eating corn
not Vanderbilt cuz its in Tennessee
not UCLA....wait, idk why not UCLA???***? I should have cuz i did Berkeley

didn't apply to any campus unis out of the city because...

i don't want to share a room

yeah.. i know.. well i've been living on my own for years i'd go crazy having to live in a dorm again.. and even sharing it... OMG.. and u get better internships in ny.. even when u just go to cuny.. that's where i'm now..

I didn't apply to colleges in the south, because I don't like heat. Besides, snow makes me happy. Emory is the only exception.
Johns Hopkins - I thought that I would be surrounded by doctors and med-students all the time and I don't like doctors. Very dumb. I regret this a little.
Tufts - I didn't like the name of the city..Medford? Very very dumb.

Didn't apply to Cornell because I a friend's sister was really hot, and the friend wouldn't stop teasing me about it. I didn't want to seem like a creeper, so I didn't apply. (It was my first choice in college my entire junior year! But I changed likely majors from engineering to bio.)

I only applied to Dartmouth at the last second because I found out that my best friend was applying there (and there wasnt any supplement).

I applied to Cornell, because that is my boyfriend's name - Cornel... :)
Did not apply to Colgate, because... c'mon, Colgate like the toothpaste? Really?

I didn't apply to Marlboro because well... yeah.
I didn't apply to a lot of colleges for their percentage of asians. lol I grew up in towns with not much ethnic diversity so I wanted to go to a school where there were more than 10 asians.

I applied to Williams because without it, I'll be applying to 13 schools. So Williams made the 14th one, a bit better than the number 13.
I chose Williams over Amherst because Williams has a bit more people in a class than Amherst does (about 10-20?).
I didn't apply to Oxford because they require that you have at least 2100 SAT (although mine was above the requirement). How arrogant and elitist!!

originally, i had decided to apply to 13 schools. but i was freaked out by that number. instead i got rid of one--georgetown--and only applied to 12. oh well

I applied to a bunch of schools cause they were free and "VIP" apps and whatever so they took like 5 minutes to complete.

I didn't apply to Cornell in part because I don't want to stay in Ithaca. (The bigger reason though is they don't have nursing...if they did, it would be my #1 school-->free tuition baby!).

I didn't apply to Nazareth because I had only looked into it cause my boyfriend was probably going to RIT and then we broke up.
