Hi, so I was deferred back in December and I'm just wondering what the last possible date they can tell me is. Thanks!

I was also deferred in December with the “best” letter and apparently by some sort of freak accident, I received another deferral letter in February that requested my 7th semester grades. Long story short, I e-mailed my regional rep today verifying that it was a mistake and part of his reply stated “i expect final decisions will go out in mid-late april.” I know that doesn’t help too much, but I guess that’s when most of us deferred applicants should expect to hear :

I assume it has to be before May 1st right?

On a side note, I still have not heard back from them at all since I turned in my application in January. Does it usually take this long?

Keep in mind the volume of applications that University of Michigan receives. I wouldn’t stress too much unless you haven’t received anything a week or two into April.

Late April, you can’t be serious.

I know. I read it during class and I literally gasped haha

are people accepted that late or is it only rejections and waitlists?

that’s a good question ^^

depends on when you sent in your application. if you sent it in the fall, they you should have an answer. if you sent it in december or later then its very possible you won’t hear back till late april

I still doubt it would be late April as almost all schools try to give students a decision before April. I have heard ( although still having server problems logging to check status) from all my schools besides University of Michigan… and UMich was one of the first schools I’ve applied to.

“are people accepted that late or is it only rejections and waitlists?”

i would like to know this, as well.

MID TO LATE APRIL. holy. sheeet -_-

That is so effin homo. I had everything in during september and if they are gonna reject me I’d rather have them do it now than later. Just get it over with so I can move on with my life

On Wolverine Access, will it legit say you’ve been accepted?

At this point I have heard back from the two other schools to which I applied. Michigan was my first choice but now I don’t even know. I was accepted at NYU and MSU. I find it ridiculous that they make us wait for months to find out, all the while accepting oos and international students left and right. I agree a rejection would have been better than just dragging this out and prolonging the pain.

This thread is turning into the official rant about getting a decision thread, YES! I feel the same exact way Mechigan Boy and UMgirl17.

I don’t know what the latest you can hear is. I don’t even know if that makes sense, to be quite honest with you.

Dunno where you got this from. I’m an international student and its been 3 months. No decision.
