Im a psych major

i believe it's 2.8

they will accept lower than a 2.8, but depends on major, usually if you have around a 2.8 or 2.9 you will get accepted. Or go the safe route and sign a transfer admission agreement and your gauranteed a spot with a 2.8

here's what it says on the website for psychology

You must earn an overall transfer GPA of 2.80 or higher to be a competitive candidate for admission. An overall transfer GPA of 2.90 or higher is required to qualify for a Transfer Admission Agreement (TAA). You must earn a GPA of at least 2.80 for the following group of courses, with no grade less than "C."

I have already signed a TAA and although it says that the minimum gpa is 2.9 you need something higher than that. I signed the agreement for economics and had a 3.6 even though it says that the minimum is 3.0. I know alot of people who tried to sign the agreement with around the minimum gpa and were denied. If you havent signed the agreement and are applying you probably need at least a 3.2 for psych. The TAA take up a lot of slots so you are competing with a lot of people for few openings. Its a lot like the TAP for UCLA.

joe-- you sound like you know a lot about davis-- does a 3.1 history major got a shot?

oh well
i still havent heard from davis... hopefully i will get in

What the heck.....UC Davis , i thought it was a top-notch UC, but they require a 2.8 minimum?

Why does UCSD for instance require a 3.4 then? What, is UCSD better than UCD?

I thought UCD was up there with berkeley and LA..

i'd rank UCD as maybe 4th in the UC system overall

You have a decent shot. I know a girl who was just accepted to davis with a 3.08 gpa, although she was applying for animal science which is a less competitive major. Just dont start looking for apartments just yet. Also Davis is the fourth best UC according to most rankings. Good Luck on admissions

what do you guys think you need for a Communication major since it is competative, and also does anyone know what GPA a political science major might need for transfer?
