What's the "next best" school you were admitted to??

Everybody know CalTech is the greatest..but what's the next best that you were admitted to? And how will you decide between them?

UIUC, Carnegie-Mellon, Cornell?

Decision wasn't really tough.

MIT, Stanford
I am visiting the schools. When I am done, I will know. Best fit.

carnegie mellon, uc san diego, umd college park

"MIT, Stanford
I am visiting the schools. When I am done, I will know. Best fit."

why would you ever go to caltech unless you got rejected by mit and stanford?

why would you ever go to ___ unless you got rejected by _____? applies for [almost] any college...once the schools are at such a high level, it all comes down to personal preference.

haha yeah i know. it was a joke.

haha no worries then :p

Rice, Carnegie Mellon, and Case. Rice gave me no money at all though.

Carnegie Mellon, Cornell

CMU comes up a lot in this group. Interesting.

Berkeley, Harvey Mudd and Carnegie Mellon... though that was four years ago now ;) (didn't apply to any ivies or mit)

galen

Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Berkeley.

Carnegie Mellon, Berkeley, Stanford, UIUC (U. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign), UC San Diego. In roughly that order. The weather was what set me on the path of the Techer rather than freezing my arse off in Pittsburgh.

steelpangolin, looking at your order, i'm assuming you want to go into cs?

:)

Want to? I'm already here and doing it, although I spent a year thinking I was going to be an EE and picked schools based on that assumption.

whoops, didn't know you were already in college!

"Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Berkeley"
tasty. if you don't want any of these, can I have it?

MIT for me

How about schools you were rejected from? Seems like there is some quantity who get rejects from HYPMS
