Ok so I have taken 1 AP class last year (sophmore) and taking one this year (junior), but since I started studying for the SAT's junior year, I didn't plan on taking too many AP's this year and always considered taking as many AP classes that I can Senior year. But then I realized that if I take the sat march of 2012 as a junior, I will be applying and getting accepted/denied in the summer before Senior. So if I am accepted into a college...what's the point of trying to impress the colleges by the classes I take senior year? I really worry that the lack of AP classes I took junior year is really going to effect me in applying to college.... I also worry that taking as many AP classes as I can in senior year is not going to help me at all in applying to college...And since I didnt do any research the junior year summer...I was going to plan to do it in the summer before senior year...

colleges still want to see if your challenging yourself. They don’t want to see someone who only tries hard when they need too but they also want to see people who challenge themselves further.

I’m pretty sure you also can’t be accepted to a college by the end of the summer, it happens during senior year where you get accepted or rejected. You also have your personal statement and the application process to worry about so Senior year isn’t a total waste. If your satisfied with your SAT score before summer, then work on your personal statement and application this summer and take atleast 2 or 3 AP courses Senior year.

One last tip: search for colleges during the summer, it will save you a lot trouble down the road.

Most of the time you apply to colleges in the fall and many regular deadlines are in late december/early january. Colleges also look at your midyear report, which is semester 1 of your senior year, so it still matters. Doing research your summer before senior year will still be done in time for you to show it on your application, but you should not be doing research just for college application’s sake. There are not that many colleges that you apply to and hear back from in summer, so don’t worry about that aspect.

@genuine I already know what colleges I’m interested in so got that down :P

@Apoc and Genuine Ok thanks that’s what I was basically looking for, now I know that taking all me AP’s senior year won’t be a total waste :P, thanks guys!

But this is just two people, still looking for more people to share their opinion on my situation :P

You never get into college before your senior year, only during your senior year around december at earliest.

Ok thanks fellow Indian bro :)
