According to the fin. aid info in the packet, the cost for OOS is close to 21,000.
Is that the real cost or are any other hidden fees, extras, etc?
tnx

ouch! Instate we pay (including EVERYTHING) about 8K a year.

I know, but a friend of mine told me his sister's total cost last yr ended up being like 28K which concerned me. any thoughts?

OK, I just looked up my bill for the spring of 2008 which came in late October 2007 after my daughter registered. The total bill was $6340 less 2833 for the Hope scholarship. This included all tuition and fees, 7day meal plan and the residence hall charge. Total for the semester was $3507. Books this semester added about $300. Last semester the books were almost $800 but Chemistry books were for 2 semesters. So about $8k for tuition, residence hall, meal plan, fees and books is a good estimate.

Sorority expenses would be extra and are very expensive
Personal expenses are extra, obviously.

You have been so helpful! Thank you so much for your input!

I got the package information and I was shocked: total cost of attendance:31000!
I don't know....

OOS is not cheap; but you would find that anywhere. My son does not pay much for out of pocket expenses. He has the 7 day meal plan, and sticks with it...the occassional chick fil a and $5 pizza, but not much else. Books were ginormous this year...but that's to be expected.

Beside Hope, would you probably get any kind of aid or grant if your EFC (estimated family contribution) is 0 ? Has anyone received an aid or grant beside Hope (not scholarship)?
