You guys, what’s the first letter of your last names? My dad suggested this could be alphabetical.

^ My last name starts with C and I haven’t heard so I’m pretty sure it’s not alphabetical.

I just got my email, and was unfortunately rejected.
HOWEVER, now I am excited to attend Randolph College.

The first letter of my last name is K.

They’re not beginning with the letter A. Trust me.

Sorry to hear that, dropDead. But Welcome to Lynchburg!

Aweee Im so sorry dropdead :frowning: You can always transfer!!

I still havent gotten anything. They are definetly not sending out the emails alphabetically. My name starts with a B. And people on fb are posting their acceptance and their names begin from A to Z!

does anyone know the method, I still havent heard :(

NO!! I just got:

This year James Madison University received over 22,400 applications for a freshman class of 3,960. As a result of this tremendous competition, there were many good students, like you, to whom we were not able to offer admission. However, the Admissions Committee felt your academic record merits further consideration.

We would like to offer you the opportunity to be on our waitlist so that we may consider you for any spaces in our class that become available after May 1. If you are interested in remaining on our waitlist, please indicate your interest by completing our Waitlist Position Acceptance Form at secureweb.jmu.edu/admissions/waitlist/ by May 1st. Your ID Number xxxxxxxxx and Application Reference Number xxxxxxxxx are required on this form. No action is necessary if you intend to cancel your application. Please be advised that the waitlist is not pre-ranked. If spaces become available, we will review applications from students who fill out the Waitlist Position Acceptance Form. The majority of waitlist offers are made during the month of June. However, since we anticipate some cancellations during the summer, our Admissions Committee could continue to consider waitlist candidates for openings in our freshman class until early August.

Predicting the number of applicants who will accept our initial offer is not an exact science. We have no way of knowing in advance how many students, if any, will be offered admission from our waitlist.

In order to guarantee college enrollment, you must submit a deposit by May 1 to another school in the event we are unable to offer you admission from our waitlist.

We appreciate your interest in James Madison University.

…do first I get deferred, and then waitlisted. BS.
