I believe mine was sending a letter of rec. to a college with another college's name on it...

oops?

I believe mine was sending a letter of rec. to a college with another college's name on it...

oops?

I forgot to fill out an entire section: the name of my school, my guidance counselor's name, etc.

Typo at the end of a brilliant essay.

It was horrible, i replaced me with my in the last sentence, so the essay just ended on a bad note. I got in though...

Also, on a safety school app, I accidentally wrote that I graduated in 1909 instead of 2009.

I told Brown to "take a chance on me" at the conclusion of my essay.

/fail

hahah duper i feel for ya.

I was doing my first college app and I mistook the essay prompt on the application as a short-answer question. >< I did the application online and thought essays were supposed to be sent in separately. Then later when I was reading through their website I saw "essay on application."

at least it was just a back-up school ._.;

See clam fart thread.

I remember the clam farts thread from a while ago! Now that was something memorable.

I did not fill out (probably) one of the most important sections on my Yale application. It was the one asking "Why Yale?" and I wrote in "Not Completed" just so I can preview my application as I completed the common app and then copy and paste my answer from word once I was ready to send it in. Well I totally forget to copy and paste it, and only seconds after I submitted my application I realized I totally forgot to fill it in. So I start contacting my regional admissions officer and the Yale admissions office to let them know what happened and just attached it to the email. Thankfully, they were extremely nice about it and attached it to my file. And just a few weeks later I was accepted... So I guess it wasn't that bad considering I was pretty proactive about it :)

Wow... Congratulations on your acceptance, Yass1211.

lol I had a crappy essay for my reach school. But besides that it was all good.

Not having a perfect essay, SAT score, award, and EC :)

Left one of my EC's descriptions half done! >.<

Exactly what I wrote:

"Student mentor that taught elementary students about current issues, such as global warming, and how they can contribute to the decreasing edit"

wrote in the high school date wrong by a year.

My common app essay. The whole thing. I hope a brilliant supplement essay will make them forget the other one.

I ended my MIT essay with how much I hate biology. No, I'm not sure what I was thinking. Somehow, I still got in, so it's all good :)

Letting my parents persuade me into giving them my common apps password and believing them when they insisted that they wouldn't change anything... not only did they change stuff, but they misspelled the changes

I accidentally made it extremely apparent that I was recycling essays.

For my why duke, cornell, and rice essays, they varied by about 10 words. I still think they work though, or else I wouldn't have left them that way. I guess I'll see.

^ How on earth does that work? My "Why X essays" (Duke, Columbia, Yale, USC, Claremont McKenna) are all very different from each other because they offer very different programs...

My worst mistake was forgetting to attach my Why Duke essay. I mailed it in though, so I think they'll add it.
