What grave mistakes have you made on your apps so far?

For Georgetown, I was an idiot who thought that the "Special Talents" box meant "put in your resume" so I did just that. ughh....

For Everything Else Thus Far: None of my essays have titles. I was going to put them in later, and apparently I forgot. Guess it's too late now. gah, i really hate college admissions right now!!

I've got one more early one left...maybe I'll actually get it right this time around.

Forgot to delete a word while replacing it in my Yale supplement essay. I don't know how I overlooked that one...

And the commonapp essay had a formatting issue where one paragraph wasn't indented and in the middle it's randomly indented. Gahhhh

Put graduation date as 5/17 instead of 5/16

Our essays are suppose to have titles? I guess I made that mistake.

I haven't made any yet, but I've been extremely careful.:p

I've made a lot of little mistakes. On my supplement for TCNJ it says Full Name and for some reason I only put my first and didn't put my last? Luckily though my email which is right below it contains my first and last name so hopefully there won't be too much of a problem.

Also I accidentally submitted the unedited version of my essay to one of my school's on their VIP app - but I don't think it'll matter much because there wasn't much editing I did anyway.

I'm glad to say I haven't really made any mistakes in my applications up till now (other than one typo in one of my Michigan essays).

I just applied to Stanford and worked harder on my application essays that anything else I've ever done.

wait, the essays HAD to have titles?

I also made a mistake in my Georgetown App.
My counselor recommendation stunk and I meant to have it fixed but I forgot and I sent it in. That's what happens when you have a large class size :(

i wrote the wrong SAT date (mar. 2008 instead of 2007...)

I haven't made any mistakes yet, but my teacher spelled Ithaca, NY wrong on my rec.

My guidance office has made the most mistakes, not me. They sent in one my my reacher recs without the actual common app form, they claimed they never received a rec from my professor (but they're notorious for losing things and i know they lost it), and my name was spelled wrong in one place on one of my teacher recs. So basically all of my forms are coming at all different times.... which I know will probably annoy colleges.

wait can someone answer the comment about titles?
does anyone else know if we HAD to have titles?
i don't remember reading it.

we don't have to have titles -from my counselor and english teacher.
but, it would certainly help our essays if it hooks the reader, giving it the creative "extra" and/or a concise summary.

Forgot to put credit numbers for classes on the commonapp and no titles on essays.

No titles on essays and I forgot to mention that I self-studied multivariable calculus and linear algebra junior year and am currently working on differential equations. :/

I wrote my supplemental essay for Northwestern a few months ago before the football season started, and I said in it "I mean, let's face it, the Wildcats aren't exactly winning the Big 10".

And guess what happened? I swear, they ALWAYS suck, and this year just has to be the year they're 5-0.

Also I forgot to mention what school of Northwestern I was applying to in the same essay...

I clicked the wrong prompt when submitting two apps. smacks head I had to email both schools to explain and I felt so silly.

i haven't made any huge mistakes yet, but my counselor still hasn't submitted anything and the deadline was yesterday ...

Lima, mentioning Northwesterns failure at athletics probably won't increase chances of being accepted :P

Btw, Penn States going to win the Big Ten and NW has 2 losses so you're good ;)
