I just got accepted at USC for spring admission. Apparently they ran out of their room for freshman?

I'm actually like severely disappointed with this... I really wanted to go to USC but i guess not going anymore...

failuresuh…don’t worry about that. It is the USC version of a waitlist. You could still be accepted. Or take a bit of a gap year and go in the Spring. I would take anything if I got it! Go for it.

I also was admitted to the spring admission. It makes my decision really hard. I don’t know whether to accept it or just move on to my other choices. USC is my top school, but I don’t want to go in the spring. I want to go to school in the fall with my other classmates

tornados,

thanks for your reply but it’s still frustrating… Might end up going to UCLA instead? Or possibly transfer from UCLA after a semester (I just called and they told me i could do that), but at this point is it worth it to transfer out of UCLA into USC?

I guess it’s a personal decision but any feedback would be great.

:edit: Ninjadavid64,

I definitely agree with you. I guess I could go to a community college or something but I feel like i would be missing out on a ton of the fall stuff…

ninja…that period of time, what is it six months? That is not a lot of time and then you will be in your dream school. Don’t compromise, go for it. Take the six months to do something to important in your life. But don’t let go of your dream.

Failuresuh,
Think about this! You are in! It will just be a bit later.

If you read posts on this board, there would be many who would gladly trade places with you. Across the country there are colleges with waiting lists. SC does not do this. You are either accepted or not. You have been accepted to a highly selective university.
Sometimes these wait lists are quite long. In many cases those on the list, except for the first few, never have a realistic chance of admission. Students wait all summer in vain.

Pete Carroll always remarked use a challenge as an opportunity.

Students in your major may choose other colleges or discover the financial package will not suffice. Families are transferred abroad. Things change. If an opening occurs in your major…you may be bumped up to take that spot. Some students were bumped up in April last year.
This time can be spent as a mini gap. Start a business, take required classses at a cc, do community service or find a temporary job.

may i ask what your majors are?

What was the progression of your status? I’m currently at “acted on”.

I was undecided and my stats are pretty good. I wrote a great essay, had a great gpa, and and ec’s but my standardized test scores were low. ACT was a 25. I am very surprised I got in.

I was also undecided.

my gpa is 3.61 unweighted
2180 sat
780 sat 2 math
lots of ECs and leadership stuff

mine was forwarded when i got mine

ninjadavid64 what was ur unweighted gpa?

My unweighted gpa was a 10.8/11. It is about a 3.9/4
