Haha that's what I thought when I saw this site too, though there were a few more expletives going through my mind. 2400 SAT, 800 on SAT II's, International/Nationally ranked in this-or-that, and teachers have erected a monument in their honor. It's daunting. Not someone I'd want to come across in a dark alley....

You mean a "dark alley" next to the library.
:)

lol next to the library.

between the alley and the computer lab

"ultra-successful, ultra-driven and heading to ultra-schools."

Jesus... Marks and scores do NOT MEAN success. There are idiots with under average IQ's who study 10 hours a day and get good marks. Their marks arent gonna necessarily make em successful.... and not going to an "Ultra school" isnt the end of the world. U feel down cause someone got more marks than u.. remember this:
Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, two of the worlds real genii dropped out of college! Einstien flunked and so did Edison

Be confident. Comparing against others and feeling depressed wont improve ur score, nor does it show that they are smarter than you. A man with an IQ of 150 can have a cold and get a 20 in the ACT... he isnt DUMB or less SMART than someone who studied his ass off and got a 36

Also remember NOT to compare yourself to others on this board. For one thing, quite a few people exaggerate their 'intelligence' just to match themselves to other CCers, or to freak out them out.

This is quite true. I think a lot of stats on CC are slightly exaggerated just because posters don't want to be the only person with a slightly less than perfect record.

Martha, you have great stats. You will end up at a very good school.

I have another question- I have high test scores and a realatively low GPA. Will I be giving off "slacker mentality" vibes to colleges, and will this injure me next year when acceptance/rejection letters are mailed?

I'm also extremely interested in UWashington! But OOS and my SAT is just a bit above average (at least compared to others on this forum; 2180).

I haven't taken the SAT yet, but it can't be too low- if I stay focused it should be in the 2000s.... IF i stay focused.

You know, admission officers judge you on how well you've succeeded for yourself considering the environment you belong to. If you live in a wealthy suburban community, you have more opportunities to work on grades and go research turtle migrations in the summer heh...But not everyone is so priveleged--and that's completely accounted for, Mary. I mean, it would be unfair to ask a student managing part-time jobs in a less than 2000 residents, 10% college-attended district to compare himself/herself to some kid who has all the monetary benefits and community support. you'll get into college, don't fret. and you're not any less smart. i would say, you just weren't thrown an SAT book into your arms the minute you were born or chastized for getting an heavens no, A-, on a mathematics test. ;)
