Pretty self explanitory.
And why?

I choose High Point University. It’s a reach for me, but it’s still my favorite school. Out of every school I’ve visited, this school made me feel the most at home. Had the best views. The nicest people. And the greatest professors. I truly fell in love with High Point in 8th grade. I’m angry at myself for not having good enough grades to get in. I admit I’m a slacker, and it’s gonna show when I get rejected. But that doesn’t change my mind. High Point University is #1!

Two colleges are tied for my favorite: Penn State and Maryland. Both have beautiful campuses with amazing D1 athletic scenes. The only difference is Penn State is rural, while Maryland is really close to DC.

Reed College (though there are several reasons why I’ll never be able to go there). I like the location, the small class sizes, the lack of athletics and Greek life, and their overall academic philosophy.

University of Miami.

Great campus, great athletics, great academics, perfect weather, top 50 ranked, great premed and business programs, prestige in SoFla, I will be accepted there, and did I mention the location?

University of Kansas! Why? The mens basketball team! Seriously. I’ve grown up watching every game, I love all the traditions and everything. Even though I probably won’t attend KU because it’s not a good academic fit, I’ll always be a Jayhawk!

Caltech. Small class sizes, brilliant professors and students, everyone’s a STEM nerd, nice campus/weather/location, awesome research opportunities, Harry Potter-esque house system, awesome prank culture, collaborative atmosphere, Richard Feynman, etc.

Cornell. Beautiful campus, very diverse selection of courses/majors, great architecture program, best atmosphere of the ivies (in my opinion-the school’s students just generally seem less uptight), isolation is appealing after a lifetime in metropolises… the list goes on.

Georgetown. Great location, great program, and a little bit more reachable than HYPS and ivies.

Dartmouth:
-Ivy League
-In top 10
-I believe it has a good med school
-Suburban
-In the North, so a lot of snow (I only get snow once a year where I live, but for the past 2-3 years there hasn’t been a single day of snow).
-FUNNY NAME LOL

Stanford. One of the best engineering programs and right next to Silicon Valley. Good sports teams also

Seattle University because that’s where I’ll be going!

Stanford, the amazing Management Science program and eclectic culture had me falling the second I walked onto campus

UMichigan

I like the hipsterish vibe it emanates. Quality education + resources for research + NOT IVY League + public (ain’t no pretentious private) + large, diverse student body so not everyone’s gonna be a stuckup.

UChicago, too, mainly for its application essay questions.

MIT, because when I was younger, I was very obsessed with college (still am), and I would look up the best engineering/computer science colleges. MIT seemed to be a good choice.

Cornell because of their lab of ornithology, and I happen to be a birdwatcher so I “like” that college a lot, but I don’t have too much a desire to go there. I’ll still apply but I don’t think I’ll be too upset if I don’t get in because I don’t want a career in ornithology.

New College, Oxford. It leaves me so mixed up because I really want to come to the US but everything is perfect there. The buildings are ancient, it’s close to the city centre, it’s beautiful and my parents both went there, so I spent a lot of my childhood around it.

Harvard, because its number 1 and all the people in college confidential think they deserve to be in there instead of people that actually make a difference.

University of Michigan

The school spirit, the college atmosphere, the campus life, the academics, the reputation.

Definitely the best public University in the nation.
