What's your ideal salary to live comfortably?

As the title says, what is your ideal yearly salary to live comfortably?

I was looking up jobs in psychology recently and I feel like there are many jobs I would like to do, but the salary is lower than other jobs. I want a job that I can enjoy, but also one with a modest or somewhat high salary. I know I won't be a lawyer or a psychiatrist, I don't think I would handle the stress very well. I would say my realistic ideal salary is 50,000-60,000 US currency is my ideal, of course higher than that is fine as well.

Well look at it this way, in a few years life will get more expensive, add some inflation, and a salary of over $250,000+ is truly a comfortable salary. If you plan to live in a city of course.

like do you mean total household income assuming you’re married and have a family or just one person living on their own?

Q: What’s your ideal salary to live comfortably?

A: A little more than I’m making now!

At least, that’s always seemed to be the case for me, lol.

I think a comfortable salary would be what my dad makes so like around 300,000-400,000

Single or married, you can list a different price for each one. Yeah, I forgot to factor in inflation for it, that’s my current wish. I don’t know how much It would inflate to by the time I even get a job :o

50K wont cut it in NYC lol. I’d have to say 250K for the big cities, married with two children

$250k+ would be enough to live very comfortably anywhere unless you’re looking to buy really posh apartments in big cities.

Well if im single all my life-maybe 120k

With a family-I’d say about 200k+

You guys sound hilariously ignorant…haha “300-400k”. Must be nice to be rich. I agree with the original poster. 50-60k sounds like just enough.

^Oh, let them dream. They’ll be in the real world soon enough. :)

How an a person or family live on only $50,000 a year??

a person could probably manage in a city with a low cost of living. I dont see how a full blown family could though

A lot of people just getting out of college would be very lucky to earn $50,000 a year.

Wow… how are you guys getting 200k+? A modest 50k-60k is enough…

A single person can live with $50k but not in a big city. $70+ is comfortable for a single person, $150-200k for a couple, and over $250+ with a child, add more per child.

850,000+ a year

@golfcrewxctrack: That is around the median household income in the United States.

^it is?? how is that possible?

^^^If you live in Tokyo or something. Not even LA or NYc requires that much to live comfortably.

^it is, and America has one of the highest incomes in the world, in other words we like like “kings and queens”.
