On the May SAT 1, I got 800 on math, no wrong, none omitted, on the reading however I got a 550. This was my second time taking the test, first time I got an 800 and a 540. Is this a huge problem if I'm trying to get into a technical school or a sub-ivy league university with declaring a math or math related major?

I had the same problem - 640 math, 800 writing ( and I want to do writing or something related in college). I definitely think the colleges look more heavily at the score for the thing you want to go into - especially if you're going to a school that is math-oriented. You should be fine.

Re-take and get a higher score.

Scores matter to technical schools even if they're in CR or writing. If you don't raise those scores, then I think you have little chance at a technical school. This post is not sarcastic.

technical schools look at SAT scores????

You're thinking of the technical schools like ITT tech. We're talking about schools like RIT, RPI, MIT, GIT, etc.

if you have the ability to get an 800 on math i'm sure with practice you have the ability to to bring up a 540 on CR cause even the kids at MIT are smart enough to do well on both and you need to at least break 650 on CR to have a shot there
