Wheaton College vs. The Master's College

Hi everyone,

This is actually my first post so I have no idea if this have been asked already on this forum.

So I just got accepted into Wheaton College. Wheaton was my top choice that I was banking on. But, I'm in a dilemma. I also got into The Master's College in southern California (I'm from Nor-Cal which makes it much closer to home than Wheaton). I applied under the biblical and theological studies major for both schools. I know about the biblical and theological soundness of The Master's College's program but what I also know about is John MacArthur's ultra-conservative teaching especially on women in ministry. Basically, I don't want to be a Bible-thumping preacher. The pros of Master's are obviously the constant warm and sunny weather that southern California provides and the strong biblical studies program. With Wheaton, I know that it's all the way in Illinois and that it's going to be cold for about half of the year. As far as the program, I have no idea whether it's curriculum is "better" or not.

If anyone could shed some light on Wheaton's biblical and theological studies program, and some other insight concerning the two colleges, that would be awesome.

Also, if it's of any relevance, I'm a transfer second year in college .

Thanks so much!

I am still in high school, so take my advice with a grain of salt. However, I recently visited Wheaton and stayed overnight at the school, attended a class, heard from the Bible professors, and attended chapel. Wheaton is a very strong, traditional Christian school with a high academic standard (as I’m sure you already know).
One thing that struck me about the Bible professors at Wheaton was their passion and love for the Bible but also their down-to-earthness. It’s really easy for theological professors to become dry and boring, but the professors seemed very much…alive, which is the way it should be.
I haven’t visited the master’s college, so it’s hard to compare, but they seem to place a strong emphasis on Biblical studies at Wheaton.
Plus, the food is AMAZING, and the campus is beautiful, even when it’s cold.
Best of luck to you!
