Wheelchair Accessible Housing?

I'm a junior and a prospective applicant who uses a wheelchair. I scoured NU's disability services website and did not find any indication that NU offered accessible housing. Can anyone tell me if accessible housing is an option and if so, does anyone have experience with it? Thanks.

The only web site that I know of is the following…

[Accommodations: Services for Students with Disabilities - Northwestern University](<a href=“AccessibleNU - Northwestern University”>AccessibleNU - Northwestern University)

Best I can find is this: [Evanston Campus Wheelchair Accessibility : Northwestern University](http://www.northwestern.edu/campus-life/campuses/wheelchair-accessiblity/evanston-campus-wheelchair-accessibility.html). I see that the Foster-Walker complex (the building) is wheelchair accessible. I can’t find any specifics about accessible rooms. An e-mail to either Disability Services or Housing would probably be your best bet.

I know that my dorm seemed to have wheelchair-accessible features, but I don’t know if it had enough to be considered wheelchair accessible overall. I would agree that your best bet is probably contacting SSD. Good luck!

Are you male or female? I know that the south sorority quad has been redone so that all the porches appear to be wheelchair accessible. I don’t know about the north fraternity quad though.

@pizzagirl I’m female
@everyone Thank you all so much for the helpful info and links. From NorthwesternDad’s link it looks like accessible housing is an option, but I will have to check with SSD. I plan to visit again over the summer to get more info.
