My son just found out he will be living in Wheeler Hall this fall. Could anyone provide me with info on this dormitory?

Hi Dad1011,

I'd hoped someone with a more current perspective would reply to you.

I attended HC way back in the 80s. Even then, Wheeler was one of the most popular dorms on campus. It is somewhat centrally located, between the library and the Hogan Campus Center. Your son won't have to climb quite as many hills as those living in the dorms on Easy Street, but he may have to climb a lot of stairs since, I believe, Wheeler has 5 floors. Wheeler Beach was (and I think still is) the site of great outdoor activities including cookouts, concerts, and stickball games. Many students chose to live in Wheeler for all 4 years, although I'm not sure if that is still true with the addition of the apartments.

I hope your son will like it there. My DD hoped for Wheeler, but ended up in on Easy Street.

Thanks - my son is really looking forward to HC
