what was the reason that Princeton wasn't posting online decisions again?

Because they're uber conservative and they don't encourage any type of change whatsoever.
Just kidding.
I don't know.

To drive us crazy, apparently! :)

I recently emailed the ad office. Here's the reply:

Dear Applicant,

We will be sending decision letters to all Early Decision applicants by mail on Friday, December 15. We will not call students to inform them of their decision, but applicants may e-mail us or call us beginning Tuesday, December 19, if they have not yet received their decision letter.

Best wishes to you.

Sincerely,
Jill Lauck

WTH!!!!!!!!

nooooooooooooooooooooooo

Thats extremely annoying. That means we're talking Dec 18th, at the earliest, for the closest people.

I guess i'm luckier in the sense that the post office in my country opens on saturday instead of friday. so i may get my decision letter earlier than other internationals assuming pton sends it via fedex

albert, it sends acceptance envelopes through fedex and others through regular mail...so, for internationals it is even worse..it takes weeks

Internationals can get emails, I think. I'm not completely sure about this, but I think a couple of my international friends got email decisions last year.
They're a bit late with them because they still haven't finished with decisions--I actually heard someone being deferred while walking out of West College the other day.

Right. All applicants to Pton last year from my school got emails around the 14th-15th. Their actual acceptance package (delivered via FedEx) arrived two days later. I don't know about the people who were rejected.

Internationals, stop worrying about when you'll get your mail. Pton is not so cruel as to leave you hanging on a string for "weeks."

To give you a little hope: I received my letter the day after it was sent. Granted, I lived in South Jersey and it was an acceptance (thus Priority Mail). So some of you may get it on Saturday.

Glinda, did it com via the mailman, or was it on the USPS truck. I'm asking because no one has to be home to get mail from the mailman, but the USPS truck guy cant just leave a package.

Although if I have a missed note from USPS on Saturday, I guess I should be happy. :)

It came via mailman.

Funny story: the day my decision came was the ONE DAY that the mail was ever late. I was going crazy for 2 hours waiting for it.

so its officially another week of waiting then...

Oh sorry I forgot to point out that a Pton acceptee actually got his package on the 14th, about the same time as his email.

At any rate, internationals may receive their decision even earlier than domestic students (check last year's ED thread) and definately it won't go past Dec 17-18 or so.

aah thats a respite

Well, I called them again, (it seems like everytime I call I get a different answer). The lady said they will be sent out at the end of next week (and she added, rather skeptically, "I hope!").

Annoying...

lol...its all a game people......a game of life. :)

omg end of next week????

this is complete bull***. I need to know if I should waste 10 hours doing Stanford essays or not....
*grumble grumble
