When are RD applicants notified of Wu's decision?

I’m guessing the official date will be April 1st, however, I’ve heard that in the past some applicants hear a bit earlier…any ideas?

My son heard in early March…got into the school of Architecture… so possible they notify earlier than other schools…not really sure but it was a nice surprise!

What about scholarships notification? There are on-campus interviews for finalists in March, so I assume they’ll notify beforehead… But when exactly?

RD notifications usually are available towards the end of March. Scholarship notifications are available towards the end of February. If you are selected as a semi finalist, you can consider that to be an unofficial acceptance. Semifinalists are invited to an all expense paid interview weekend at WashU (mandatory to be considered for scholarship).

multicultural students are notified earlier, before midmarch. they also get an all expenses paid trip to visit the school on multicultural weekend

What do you mean, “multicultural students”?

i’m gonna guess that multicultural just means not white. haha, i’m not gonna lie, that’s such a PC term to use. “oh, i’m not hispanic, i’m multicultural.” (:

If it follows the pattern of the last 2 years, it will be mid march (March 13th, if they keep the pattern of the second Friday).

multicultural means if you are of a non-caucasian ethnicity - for example, asian, hispanic, etc…haha basically what erika said

Why would we (multicultural applicants) be notified earlier? Is this “multicultural weekend” in early April?

multicultural weekend is mid april, but they need to make travel arrangements and such. i dont know, the two asians from my school who got in were notified in mid march and had to accept the invitation soon after

WUSTL considers Asians to be URM? That’s unusual…

No, “multicultural” does not necessarily mean URM, at least I wouldn’t assume that…WashU has a quite large percentage of Asians I think.

What do we do at this multicultural weekend…mingle?

see the beautiful campus, get convinced to attend, stay with a nice student host…you know, the usual

So it’s essentially Admit Weekend for ethnically diverse admits?

haha. Kind of weird, but, cool?

So are scholarship finalists notified mid-February?

WashU says that their decisions will be mailed April 1st, but based on what people are saying here, it sounds like it will most likely be earlier. Additionally, I had a friend apply and get accepted last year and she found out around the 20th of March.

If you’re “multicultural” and rejected do you still hear mid-March? And is it by email or mail?

I am confused about how we are notified for scholarships. In past threads, it seems that we are either called/emailed regarding the decisions for finalist weekend. However, I also see that some students said that we could see the decision online.

If the decisions are available online, how do we check them?

Thanks! I am so nervous at this point (I don’t think I have a very good shot, but I just want to KNOW at this point so I can get over it and move on. Otherwise, I am going to always have a small sense of hope)
