When can you check your decision?

Can you check it online? and how?

same question here

i have NO idea, but ED we got an email

i didn't
....................... i don't know what happened with my email address in their database...........
so i had to call the next day...
anyway, if you're supposed to get an email but you don't, don't freak out... just call the next day :D

The only portal into the JHU system is for financial aid forms. They do not have a look up table for acceptance. All messages have to come from them.

But were you ED guys told the exact date when you could expect the e-mail or was it like one fine morning, while checking your inbox casually, you found a "YOUR JHU ADMISSIONS DECISION" e-mail sitting in your inbox?

we knew it was supposed to come out that day, and we got an email that said "Congratulations from Johns Hopkins"...maybe some of the current freshmen remember how they found out?

Yeah... that was a nerve wracking moment. My mouse froze up as I was trying to sign into my e-mail account, I almost punched the computer!
The e-mails went out at 2:26 pm... just in case y'all were wondering. Good luck! :)

ED we knew it was coming Dec 15... unfortunately for RD it's so vague --"First week of april" if we only knew. im waiting too for all my friends' decisions. The website says you will recieve your decision BY the first week of april (which seems to connote that you get it before then) but the website also says they are MAILED April 1st (which connotes that you dont know till after that) Weird huh?

i have no solid evidence, but after purusing the website, I believe that hopper only mails/e-mails decisions, and i think they are going out march 31st or april 1st, i remember seeing a date, dont remember exactly what it was though.

Oh so by just reading the subject one can tell if you got in? like "congrats from JHU" makes it obvious. Guess that's better coz it saves another step of anxiety, which is clicking on the subject and reading the letter to know your decision.
Man, I'm going to keep my comp switched the WHOLE day on the 1st of April.

hah best of luck guys.

so they are just randomly going to send me an email in the next few weeks? did the people who applied ed get a letter the same day they got the email or is the email the first way they found out?

We first found out by e-mail, all at basically the same time (the afternoon.) The letters came a few days later, by Priority Mail.

hey.. can any of you people admitted ed post the congrats email here because even after i found out on the phone and told them specifically that i didn't get an email, i still didn't get the congrats email (i was expecting them to send me one after they confirmed my email address....)
i was always wondering the contents of it...

"Dear ___________,

Congratulations! You have been accepted to Johns Hopkins University under the Early Decision Plan. All of us in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions couldn't be more pleased that you'll be joining the campus community as a member of the Class of 2009. The packet with your official decision letter was sent to you today by priority mail; you should receive it shortly. Congratulations again on this tremendous accomplishment.

Best wishes,

Director of Undergraduate Admissions"

thanks silver.
i expected it to be longer but wth, i wouldn't have cared if i saw that in my mailbox.

thats the email, the letter was longer

hey i know a lot of you guys are waiting on johnny hop's decision letters. i had my guidance counselor call the school and they told her that decision letters are mailed out on the 1st, but e-mailed on the 30th (of March), which would be in nine days.

GOOD LUCK! it's only 9 days away, hang in there!!

9 days! good luck everyone. i'll need it.
