when decisions come out, will you check online or wait for the mail?

I always planned on checking the evening of april 30 and refreshing the page every 5 minutes beginning at 3:00pm. Then I started thinking that it would just be more exciting and more of a classic experience if I waited for a letter to come in the mail. So that is what I will do. I won't be checking my email that week. :D

PS I just got uci's acceptance letter!

definitely checking online

Imagine yourself running out to the mailbox and opening the letter on the street. Then you can jump around with papers in your hand. (straight out of the girl next door).

yeah I'll do that with brown... they don't have an online app >_>

Congrats HeavyMetalGod!

was the decision also posted online or did you only get it via letter?

It was posted online last week and I got the letter today. But UCI is only my backup so I'm not checking anymore admissions online. :D

HeavyMetalGOd- ur lucky dat u already got ur acceptance letter!

heavymetal, just wondering, what were the term conditions?

HMG: Congrats! Frame the letter =). UCI is also my safety and i'm in also. Hopefully, we don't end up at our safetys or there might be a college confidential meet for UCLA/UCB rejects =(.

Term conditions were complete 60 semester units and maintain a gpa of 2.8. complete the courses listed in progress or planned on my application. Also, if I accept admission I have to immediately submit transcripts from my high school and colleges. I need to get at least a 2.0 my last semester.

Thats it.

JP: Hopefully come fall well have a college confidential meet for Berkeley admits. :D

maintain a 2.8 cummulative?

I am planning on transferring next year, but I am pretty sure that I'll look online. I'm the impatient one.

i got my UCI admit letter today too (for bus econ), and mine is dated on feb27th (i got the email on feb 23rd). my conditions are a BIT different than heavymetal: C or better in my planned courses (calc 1a&1b), maintain overal gpa of 2.70 (instead of 2.8), 2.0 in last regular term (same), and send in HS & college transcripts (and AP/SAT scores if needed) BY july 15th (not immediately). the letter just came with two pieces of paper: the letter and the info sheet. anyway yeah, as with heavymetal, this wasn't my 1st choice school either. but exciting nonethless; getting my first actual acceptance letter. oh and i know this is a UC thread, but i got my cal poly email acceptance a few days ago and sjsu like in january. haha, stiiiill waiting for the last one: ucla. ahhhh!

Congrats. I think thats weird that everyone has different conditions, but i can see why. I dont understand though why you are allowed a lower gpa. Also, when you said "overall" is this cumulative, or for the semester?

thanks and sorry mojojojo, i thought i answered your question. yeah, overall 2.7 gpa as in cumulative of your CCC transferrable gpa. it lastly says that for the last quarter/semester at your college, (so spring quarter or spring semester), you must have a minimum of 2.0. that plus you must maintain a C in all your planned courses you reported you were going to take.

I applied to UVa, and I know that last year some people got letters (mostly rejections!) before the May 1 notification date (which is when they post decisions online). But I'd rather recieve a rejection in a letter rather than online, because it's more like someone, a human, actually wrote, folded, and mailed that letter, instead of the dumb computer deciding my life.
So, if I don't get a letter by the afternoon of May 1, i'll go online. Otherwise, i'd rather the physical letter.

Thanks for clearing up the confusion bayarea! :)

thats gay how come youre allowed to have a lower gpa? :(
