I know this is Chelsey’s question but I was wondering what the multiple reasons are for only requesting the senior test scores that you mentioned above (just generally without reference to our individual decisions.)

@kaylamarie097 I’m sorry, I cannot answer that without first reviewing the applicant’s file. There are a number of factors that I could list but they vary depending on the individual applicant’s academic profile.

Okay I’m sorry, I understand. I was also wondering how soon we might expect to hear something regarding our admission decision for those that applied over the summer with special status but got the request for new test scores only. I took the Sept. ACT.
Thanks again for all of your help!

@kaylamarie097 you should hear sometime this month. We have received most of the Sept ACT test scores at this point.

Okay great! I was just wondering about one thing. I heard that some people got the request for updated test scores when they had a 30 or above in English, Math, and Writing on the ACT with above a 4.0 GPA and many APs. However, they had dramatically lower ACT Reading and Science scores. I know that Pitt doesn’t review these two sections but could this have had some influence on the decision somehow? I know that it might be different for every applicant but I was just curious whether these two sections have any influence at all.

@kaylamarie097 we are not reviewing the ACT Reading and Science subsections in the review process.
