Weird q - does the password you guys were assigned for the special status app still work for logging in?
My D tried to use it to log in to see if they got her scores (already submitted the app in summer) but it won’t let her in.
When she tried asking for a pswd reset it gave her one for an old account she had set up to schedule a tour - this account doesn’t seem linked to her application.
I guess she’s going to have to email for help, but I’m just wondering if anyone else went through something like this?

My D received a password after she completed her special status app. And submitted. This is different than the password she initially received to log on to the application. It seems that they have everything except the transcript which was sent on 9/18. Pitt told me it takes from one day to one week to arrive so if it’s not in by Friday ask guidance to re-send…

Thanks for posting that @twogirls My S’s was supposedly sent on 9/17 and it isn’t showing as received yet either.

STEMFamily I hope my post made sense! D told me on Monday that the GC sent the Pitt app last week, and today he told her that he will be mailing it out next week (?). I got all bent out of shape for nothing.

Well, I finally heard back from Pitt. They didn’t outright deny me, but they asked for another SAT or ACT score and my mid-year grades. My SAT scores were a bit low for them, I’ll admit, so I’m extremely thankful for the opportunity to prove myself again. I’m just going to keep up my grades and remain optimistic about it :)

(as well as take the SAT again soon haha); But since I applied for nursing and there are so few spots in that program each year, does anyone know if there will definitely be a possible spot for me to claim, should I be admitted after all of this is to them?

Hi @twogirls did she get that new password after Pitt had her scores?
Just curious because D submitted the app way back in July but didn’t send scores in until last week.

No she received her new user name and PW after the app was sent in but before anything else was received by Pitt.

irishdance, there was a kid last year in same boat and i think she was in nursing, with improved test scores, she got in.

here is the link and yes, she was a nursing student

Thanks @twogirls - I’ll tell D to search her mail.

@ctl987 I really appreciate you linking that to me; makes me feel a lot better about all of this!

@kaylamarie097 that’s hard to answer broadly. If a student indicated they are taking the Sept. ACT and the Oct. SAT, it’s possible we may wait for the Oct. SAT if the Sept. ACT comes in and there is not improvement. Again, these depends on a variety of factors and cannot be answered in a general sense, unfortunately.

@Harrisburg we take the highest SAT math, critical reading, and writing, and the highest ACT math, English, and writing. We super-score across tests and across test dates, and will consider the highest possible score when reviewing for admission, honors college eligibility, freshmen guarantees, and scholarships.

@scholarme Tell your D to search for an email entitled “Your University of Pittsburgh Application” It has a username and password listed. It also has this link to the Processing Center which tells you who you should contact if you have problems logging in with specific names, emails and phone numbers listed.

@twogirls We don’t have Naviance so the Registrar was going to mail it because we didn’t see on the form that it could be emailed. Since both DS and I specifically looked for this information, I’m thinking we had an old version of the transcript request form. Actually, now that I think about it some more, I think it was the form to give to the GC that only listed snail mail and faxing. Anyway, she didn’t mail it until Monday so DS asked her today to scan and email another copy. I feel a little bad about asking her to rush but on the other hand, we had to wait this long to get issues on his transcript resolved (these were issues caused by our very large urban school district, not even our own high school) so it isn’t really DS’s fault.

My daughter mistakenly thought that her GC sent the transcript through Naviance last week, but it turns out that he will be sending it out next week. Once Pitt gets her transcript the application will be complete.

@STEMFamily & @twogirls thanks! D did a search and found it in her mail. I don’t know HOW she overlooked this, silly girl.

@hailtopitt1787
I’ve noticed that some people received an email requesting for updated test scores while others received an email requesting for both test scores and mid-year grades. If our email only requests updated test scores, do we assume that our GPA and curriculum choices are definitely strong enough for Pitt and that the only issue keeping us from being admitted was the test scores?

@hailtopitt1787 I received the acceptance for Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences - Pre-Med and Honors college. I had applied for the “Grantee Medical” program, will there be another letter to provide status of this program request?

@chelsey123 this is more of an individual question, as there could be multiple reasons for requesting only senior test scores. If you have a question about your decision, please contact me directly.
@Harrisburg review for the Med School Guarantee will begin next month.
