When do the Ivies announce ED app numbers?

Just curious…

do they usually announce the numbers?

umm...i'm sorry, but what numbers??? me = totally clueless >_<

I think the OP is talking about when we can find out how many ED applications there were. I'll bet it's not until way into 2006 or even early 2007. I don't think we'd hear until the stats for the whole class, ED and RD, plus wait lists etc are finalized -that would bring things up to fall of 2006 at the minimum. Guessing.

Harvard released their numbers (Byerly found them).

Nah, i think he is talking about our pin #s

Lol, collegecountdown, we're in another disagreement!

Usually some press release will occur telling the number of applications. In previous years there is always some recognition of the number of applications received.

when do we get our pin #s?

bongo23 - We need JohnnyK to come back and resolve this one, LOL.

JUST WAIT!!!... or do my plan and open a can of.... call the admissions office

Are you swilling while under stress? Duff Beer huh? Watching sleezy TV and swilling some Duff.

i was gonna say open a can of whoopass, but i suppose... ^_^ ;)

That little pictogram doesn't look like Whoopass to me it looks like higher and on the opposing side. Maybe we better stick to Duff here on the CC......rhymes with....oh never mind.

stambliark - Wow, that seems fast, but I guess they didn't care about waiting to release as I thought they might. BIG decrease in EA apps at Harvard if this is accurate. I wonder why that happened. If admissions at HYPSM get too selective, I wonder if more people won't take any chances and tend to want to apply ED somewhere like Penn they may have more confidence in getting into.
Bottom line, what does that predict for ED apps at Penn, if anything?

Stambliark41 - Where exactly can one access the number of EA applicants to Harvard this year? I'm just wondering b/c I applied EA and I'd like to have an idea of the size of the applicant pool for EA. If you could provide a link, I'd appreciate it! Thanks. Good luck to anyone else who applied EA or ED!

-Jon :)

Smariomaster - I think he was referring to this CC thread. Maybe you can post there and ask.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=114612

No I don't mean PIN #, I got that in 2002...or was it 2003? Anyway, point is I'm old. And I'm just curious how many people from the far reaches of this globe applied to Penn ED.

dangit, collegecountdown, you were right :(

LoL

Thanks for the link collegecountdown. I was actually able to find that on my own before. Wow, 3,700 applicants... I wonder what the implications of that would be as far as acceptance rates are concerned. I guess we'll have to wait and see! Did you apply EA to Harvard?

Bongo - Now we're even!!! :)
